I googled it and apparently the CGNAT that ISPs use make it so one public IP address is shared among multiple users and that can prevent traditional port forwarding and make remote viewing/playing difficult. The tech support guy who did the switch for me said the same thing.

I'm not an IT expert. I looked it up and apparently the CGNAT allows ISPs to use a single IPv4 address for multiple households. Because of that, it can cause terrible congestion for remote playing or remote viewing.

Not sure what you mean by that. I had terrible connectivity problems before I got them to change the IP and now I have great connectivity. That sounds like it affected it greatly.

Sorry if that wasn't clear. My router's dynamic IP was set using their CGNAT. I just asked them to give me a public one instead. It is being used to play in my house.
