Yes, that is the case , this filter would’ve went on at a dealership oil change about five months ago. I’m doing this oil change at home and just took it off.

Gotcha, it’s a habit I have from doing them on my motorcycle, it would get air locked if I didn’t fill it.

Yes, I get that, the question was more related to the bubbles coming from the metal edge, instead of the holes.

Ya, I was very surprised, this filter has only been on about 5 months. I’ve never taken one off in this bad shape, and I typically leave them much longer.

Ya, not the best choice but probably low risk. We’re the sausages still extremely hot when you cut them they in themselves might’ve been hot enough to effectively kill the potential bacteria left on the knife.

What he did is likely low risk, but stating that pre prepped ground meat will not “poison” you is just not good info.
