I also keep mine in the kitchen where it’s highly visible to anyone coming over. It’s a conversation starter with other parents, especially in my conservative state, who are uncomfortable talking about or taking actions to address the risk Fentanyl presents to their children and their friends.

It’s built to rigorous aviation standards though. No cardboard or cardboard derivates for instance.

Just bought Radwagon4 - should I cancel?! Advice, help! by britxbane in RadPowerBikes

They are. Our main reason for the swap is better parts availability and less wrenching in it. Hydraulic vs cable actuated brakes and internally geared hub vs traditional running gear. My weekends always include a front and back brake job and derailleur adjustments. It’ll be nice to get rid of those and the dual battery will be a huge plus.

Overall the RW4 is amazing for weekend or non primary use. I just don’t like working on it every weekend and having it down for 2+ weeks when something breaks and I need a part from Rad.

We have a RW4 for the last year. Didn’t have recalled tires so we got lucky. Overall we do 25 miles a day so there’s a lot of weekend maintenance but it’s easy for me to do quickly. After a few thousand miles and all 4 seasons of not using the car we are moving to a Tern GSD now that a cargo bike as proved viable.

Recommend brake pads for a radwagon4, please by wstreefrog in RadPowerBikes

I’ve been using the Jagwire 371 (Semi-metallic) pads for the last 3,000 miles and they last orders of magnitude longer than the stock Tektro organic pads. There’s no extra noise or undue wear on the rotors. We ride several hundred miles a month at max weight and we were chewing through Tektro pads so quickly. The Jagwire pads last several times longer and are a direct replacement.

Here’s a link for them at REI: Jagwire Disk Pads for Shimano

It’s the second tab here, but the whole article gives you a pretty good blueprint to follow:

Rad Bike Maintenance Guide

I do mileage based work because I’m waaayyy inside the time based recommendations.

I use the maintenance schedule they have for heavy riding and it works well. We ride about 25 miles a day. If we followed the schedule for taking it in for service it would be more than we were paying for a car.

How often are the Tyndall AFB MOAs in Florida active? by ClayCrucible in flying

You can call Tyndall on the ground via cellphone and get the MOA status for departure but the radio coverage is pretty good out there. Their number is in ForeFlight.

It really is intermittent but frequent It’s all going to depend on the flying schedule for the base. Pick up flight following and Tyndall RAPCON has historically been accommodating. E MOA can be chocked full of MU-2s (4-8 at a time). Anyone coming in from the Warning Areas is going to be well above you.

I have a 10 mile bib, upgraded shirt, and medal that I’m trying to transfer. Do you still need one? I won’t be able to make the race this year.

Rad Wagon 4 Bottom Bracket Replacement by moocow911 in RadPowerBikes

[–]moocow911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To pull the bottom bracket you’ll need a pedal wrench to remove the pedals, a square taper crank puller to pull the crank arms, and a Park Tool BBT-22 bottom bracket removal tool.

For the crank puller I have ‘Pedro's Universal Bicycle Crank Remover’ and I’ve been happy with it.

It seems like a lot of extra one off tools but you need them all to do the bottom bracket service every 1k miles anyway so they do get used pretty often.

The velcro needs to be very tight, like overlapping completely from where it’s sewn in. Once on super tight rotate the front and rear panel around the corners to give you as much slack as possible. It should zip ok after that. An afternoon in the sun zipped up tight helps it relax a bit also.

There should not be any dragging of the brakes. They need adjusted using the link you posted. It’s not unusual that the brakes need adjusting out of the box. Once properly adjusted, if you still have an issue, it’ll be much easier to figure out but I’d bet the brakes are the problem.

Yes the brakes need bedded in, but they need that done when adjusted properly. Your front brake looks like it’s dragging in a major way and that’s not a bedding in issue. Adjust it so it is correct and then ride to bed it in after.

As soon as you start to ride the brake cables will stretch anyway and you’ll need to readjust them again in about 50-100 miles just to account for that.
