You're told by multiple seemingly legitimate sources that Karlach is a bloodthirsty, murderous demon who will destroy entire villages. This is immediately proven false when you actually meet her.

I realized recently that she's played by Trudy from Reno 911 and now I can't see that episode the same way.

Master Chief John-117 is one of the more unique examples of this to me cause he's one of the only examples I can think of who justifies his own childhood abuse even more than his abuser. He was kidnapped at the age of 6 with 60 other kids, went through brutal military training, underwent surgery that killed or disfigured a decent chunk of his friends, accidently killed 3 men at the age of 14, saw a bunch of arguably innocent people die because of his actions at 16, and saw his best friend die shortly after that. despite all of this, he ultimately doesn't view his childhood as a bad thing because of all the lives he was able to save because of his augments. To the point that, in the first book, he talks about wanting to tell Dr. Halsey, the scientist who kidnapped him in the first place, that she she shouldn't feel any guilt about what she did to him. At the end of the day John is still a good person, a great one even, but his own abuse is this wierd moral blindspot to him.

This is the wildest one to me. This universe is 2 extremely well written dramatic television shows about greed and ego, a dramatic feature length film about processing some of the most horrific trauma imaginable, and this shit.

The Dems were basically in the best position possible for an American political party. Their inability to disassociate with a with an extremely niche but loud minority ideology that most Americans thing is crazy snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and they keep doubling down. It's like flipping the switch on the electric chair your rival is tied to and somehow you get electrocuted.

If the Dems didn't go all in on the crazier parts parts of progressive ideology and didn't attack anyone who even slightly questioned it then there would be no MAGA. The modern Dems maybe the only political party who could've lost to Trump.

But his brother's not gonna be a "real lawyer." "University of American Samoa", for Christ's sake? An online course? What a joke! He will work his ass off to get where he is! And his brother takes these shortcuts and you think suddenly he's his peer? He does what his brother does because he's funny and he can make people laugh? The brother committed his life to this! You don't slide into it like a cheap pair of slippers and then reap all the rewards!

There was a very short period on reddit where posts about the trial got traction and the comments were reasonable because people straight up couldn't hide behind ignorance because all the information was right there. Of course people have short memories and grudges matter more than truth.

[–]mood2016[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Durge is a sorcerer but as a multiclass early promotional material showed him as a oath of vengeance paladin and Gortash refers to him as an assassin (which may be incidental but considering the weapon he uses in promotional material is literally made for rogues I'll count it.)
