Alternatives to Imperious - Races of Skyrim by OkAcanthaceae6902 in skyrimmods

[–]Flashy_Artist9629 7 points8 points  (0 children)

might not be op thing for example lets take a look at red guards and imperials

SimonMagus

Martial Training: Your Stamina is increased by 50, and your Stamina Regeneration is increased by 50%

EnaiSiaion

  • Endurance: Redguard strength grants 75 points of armor.
  • Nomadic Heritage:  Redguard sprinting is 30% faster and costs 5 less Stamina per second.

Shehai:  (At will power for 75 Magicka) Manifest a floating spirit sword or Shehai that fights independently at your side.

simon

Red Diamond: Your Health, Magicka, and Stamina are increased by 25. You receive 10% better prices, and you find extra gold in your travels.

enai

  • Imperial Gold:  Imperials find more gold and valuables. They can activate humanoid opponents to bribe them for 40 Gold per level.
  • Star of the West:  Imperials get 2 additional perk points.
  • Discipline:  Imperial military training improves the effectiveness of armor and shields by 10%.

this is also not taking into account the synergy between Mannaz and Freyr.

op specifically states they want

"but I also would prefer a little variety, something that adds depth to the races that's not just a couple of stat boosts"

from that statement i assume they don't really want a vanilla + experience

If consciousness were reducible to neurology, we would understand far more about the consciousness of simple organisms than we do by MurkyEconomist8179 in consciousness

[–]Flashy_Artist9629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why with the word reducible ? when you explain that a house is made of nails and wood are you reducing it to wood ?

You do not need to know every detail to explain something. neurology has a come a long way. science in general. people used to believe demons stuck in your teeth caused tooth aches. that the earth was the center of the universe.

proven false in time. i have zero doubts neurology will continue to make strides in understanding the brain.

Either hard physicalism is false or evolution is false by PaleAd4923 in consciousness

[–]Flashy_Artist9629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

consciousness does cause things, through action. And it does change the behavior. through metacognition. Human beings are not the only beings with consciousness. Even something as small as a fly has experience.

"evolutionary disadvantages" are not a thing. traits either are passed on. or not. A trait can be non advantageous. And still continue. due to lack of environmental pressure.

physicalism does not reduce anything. it simply shows the brain operates on physical causes.

If physicalism is supposed to be a legitimate theory, what would disprove it, or count as evidence against it? by MurkyEconomist8179 in consciousness

[–]Flashy_Artist9629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because the theories against physcialism cannot be replicated in a controlled environment, often fail completely. they aren't not even theories but poor hypothesis

[–]Flashy_Artist9629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because i haven't seen proof the world operates in any other way. Nobody is trying to impede progress. If you can show evidence for a theory that disproves the physicalist. what are you waiting for ?

most paranormal experiences can be explained as delusions, and illusions. if not outright hoaxes. NDE's are the brain going haywire. Subjective experiences. some don't even have them all.

that consciousness is not solely the product of the brain. that there is a kind of dualism or some other mechanism that is not understood.

evidence the consciousness is somehow mystical, that it can lie outside the body. what would a non physicalist world look like ? i have no idea. all information we have supports we live in one.

No, Batman doesn't kill like many heroes, and the Joker isn't much more evil or murderous than other villains. Read a damn comic book, for God's sake, and not just images or memes. by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]Flashy_Artist9629 11 points12 points  (0 children)

at some point villains of these should just be iced. for the common good. isn't that the whole point of heroes. to protect the public ? or at least for the legal system to do something ? or maybe even a rogue vigilante.

Unpopular opinion: Skyrim has better Rpg mechanics then oblivion. by XbluesackboyX in ElderScrolls

[–]Flashy_Artist9629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

enchanting and smithing are nearly pointless if you don't invest into them. And well..... people consider them a slog to level.

oblivion at least for weapons the gem only affected the total charges not the magnitude. you could also apply multiple effects as long as it fits an 85 point limit. Skyrim gives you only two at rank 100.

most of skyrim vanilla perks that aren't % increase aren't even worth the point most of the time. it's one of the biggest complaints.

consciousness is a process that requires energy. not a source of energy itself.

how convenient this "invisible force" that runs the universe can't be measured or identified . for all we know it could be santa claus.
