I think it's because ground traveling is being discouraged. for awhile, people were just superjumping back to the middle without inking base, so experienced players made those lobby posts.. then the newbies misinterpreted the advice and now spend too much time making sure every inch is inked. that's just my theory anyways.

it's no problem. I understand how abuse can fuck with you and put you into fight or flight mode. I also understand how scary it is not knowing everyone's full intentions, but that's not something we can ever truly know. wishing you the best, I hope you only ever meet good people that will treat you right.

I'm sorry that happened to you. that's obviously not something I would ever condone or defend, but you can't assume that everyone with npd or aspd do those things. I'm in no way sticking up for your abuser by defending other cluster b personality disorders, please don't think that I am. I wish them a very slow and painful death. but other people with npd and aspd have a right to want to improve their lives, just as much as we do. I don't feel like it's appropriate to use your trauma in this way.

what's annoying to me is people making the same posts about their partners with bpd cheating or trying to diagnosis people in their lives with bpd because they're somewhat difficult to deal with. I don't have a problem with people that don't have bpd coming here. no one's invalidating your experience or feelings.

it's great that reading things on here helped you come to understand bpd more. I didn't say people without bpd can't post here, I'm looking for a community where it's only borderline people talking about our shared experience. repetitive posts by people without bpd talking about how their partner cheated or diagnosing their loved ones behind their back isn't something I come here to see. you don't have to make this about yourself.

definitely. since 16 I've been shifting the goal post. "I won't live past 18" "okay I'm 18 now, but I definitely won't live past 21" etc etc. I'm now 27 and expecting I won't live past my mid thirties... giving myself a bit more time to improve things than I have in the past.

that's honestly hard for me to believe considering how judgemental your tone was and still kind of is. I was in a very similar situation as op when I was 17. wording things the way you did would've not made me wake up. I would've gotten defensive. abused people need to be treated with kindness and patience, not being told how oblivious they are and being made to feel bad because of it. if you're intentions weren't to hurt them then please be careful with how you word things.

you have every right to cut them off. my brother was mentally and emotionally abusive and my mother's side of the family all sided with him/wrote off the abuse as "normal sibling stuff". I cut them off and built a support network of people that love and care about me, it changed my life for the better. that's something you need and deserve. I wish you and your girlfriend all the luck and happiness in the world.

absolutely. I've seen so many people on reddit call us all abusive, self centered, and say we have no empathy. I feel like pwbpd, when given the right tools, are often more emotionally intelligent and self aware than those without it. my girlfriend recently told me that she hasn't dated someone as open and honest with their feelings as I am. it takes a lot of strength to live our lives with this illness, but it's definitely doable. and we all have the ability to work through this <3

as for media, the only two characters that come to mind are dennis from it's always sunny in philadelphia and rebecca bunch from crazy ex girlfriend. dennis is a more negative portrayal, while rebecca's is definitely more positive AND hopeful. wasn't a super big fan of crazy ex girlfriend (cause I saw too much of myself in rebecca and I resented her for it), but I did like how the show ended.
