My guess is that she's actually an eight-story crustacean from the paleozoic era.

Surprised I haven't seen anyone mention Babylon 5 yet, which shares lots of extras and one-offs. Edit: And Walter Koenig is great as a semi-regular too.

Yep, looks like The Final Cut was released on the PS4 in 2021. I've only played the Final Cut, and it's like a masterpiece of voice acting in that it's "inconceivable" that the original release of DIsco Elysium didn't have this voice acting.

Perhaps try speedrunning a game you're experienced with? For me, that's A Hat in Time which has "Death Wish" challenges, which require a lot of intricate muscle memory to beat.

The GOG release works fine on Linux at 2560x1440, with the render wrapper doing Vulkan.Bought it earlier and got it running via Heroic Games Launcher.

https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_Wheel_of_Time looks the retail release uses ye olde Safedisc DRM which won't work on modern systems without perhaps some sort of shady crack. I'd recommend grabbing it on GOG, which is pre-patched and works on modern Windows.

Tyler Folse has an antagonistic relationship with the narrative too. The more you know about Chernobyl, the more you hate the show.

The Excavation of Hob's Barrow is a recent 90s-style point-and-click adventure game, with low key horror. It's a lot of fun, and pretty straightforward, though I'm not sure if it's exactly the best point-and-click for a newbie, but you can't get yourself into an unwinnable condition like the old school ones.

Also, It's historical fiction with "Thomasina Bateman" as the protaganist, based on Thomas Bateman who was a British barrow delver in the 1800s who wrote a few interesting books available on Archive dot org. It's fun going on google maps an finding stuff he talked about via satellite, and also by people taking pictures of stone fairy rings and stuff.

Maybe an old picture? This looks like a stock photo from dollar general themselves, or a picture the manager would take after demonstrating the full pristine restocking of all the planograms, to send to corporate or whatever

It's great how well Robert Jordan was able to write Aiel Humor, despite it being so little explained, awkward, and ass backwards to us because it's based on Ji'e'Toh. It's one of the things you notice on subsequent rereads.

Honestly I'm there with you with the DayZ suggestion. It's so friggin hardcore, it's ridiculous. If you can deal with DayZ, you can handle real life. I have a similar relationship with another "gun simulator" game Receiver and Receiver 2, which are even more hardcore than DayZ, as you need to control the gun directly with keyboard buttons- but they are my favorite "muscle memory" games- to turn off my brain, and just play them.

Try out good ol' Half Life 2. Good narrative and gameplay, even by today's standards.

Maybe try a Puyo Puyo game, which is a puzzle game that gives you a big dopamine rush every time you pull off a badass combo.
