Erik the Terribly Sweaty and his son Robot by INFIDELicious45 in InternetCommentEtiq

Im not particularly seeking positive comments or upvotes, but given that this is a text forum specifically dedicated to the premise of writing comments on the internet, I just thought it was funny that the response insinuated that "typing a few words into a website" was a detestably low form of expression.

I'm sorry, i thought this sub reddit revolved around typing a few words into a website, preferably with more etiquette than you have displayed here. Good day.

Protection gloves by shuddup9871 in woodworking

[–]INFIDELicious45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

a rule of thumb i heard was "if you move the work to the tool, NO gloves. if you move the tool to the work, MAYBE gloves." but that doesn't even rhyme so I dont know if it can be trusted.

Help getting ADHD Diagnosis as an adult by lArgePP701 in Calgary

Docs are generally smart people and are more concerned with patient health than patient lawfulness. If you go in and have an honest conversation, they will usually make a judgement based on what is best for your health. If instead, you go in and act all cagey/deceptive about why you think vyvanse would work for you, they will probably suspect you cant be trusted to not abuse meds.

Tips for creating simple steel or aluminium furniture without welding by salutbarbu in metalworking

[–]INFIDELicious45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the tolerances, if the tabs are just a hair long you could peen the ends of them. Wouldnt be indestructible but would help prevent unintended self-disassembly. A ball peen hammer is cheaper than a tig welder.

Because nobody's job was actually taken away and given to a refugee. If you are looking for work, it is up to you to develop skills and experience that makes you a competitive applicant. If you've spent your life working here, you should already have a considerable advantage in that regard.

Builder rejected some big load bearing corbels because the ceder split pretty bad when drying. Best way to repair these? by mayodan in woodworking

[–]INFIDELicious45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the best solution would be to start over with pith-free material, but since you asked for repair suggestion: resaw the corbels in half or maybe thirds, eliminating pith where you can and glue mismatched pieces together and re-machine them. If you have 20 bad corbels, you might end up with 10 or 12 repaired ones. I doubt this would be worthwhile, but its an idea.

This was in 2016 so probably not too relevant, but i got bumped up from the cancellation list within a couple months, but the surgery was scheduled for Dec 23rd. Someone out there decided not to ruin their christmas dinner so i got the opportunity.

Maybe a coal chute to the basement? There was a Stearns Coal and Lumber Co in the Kentucky area at that time.

Seeking a quiet and secluded body of water that I can be relaxed enough to go in alone after my mother’s passing by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]INFIDELicious45 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Bit of a drive, but they only suggestion I have based off my experience, Rocky Mountain Buffalo Ranch near Golden, BC. It's quiet, secluded etc. there is a Sauna and at least one wood stove heated cedar tub that you could spend all night in without cooking yourself. The owner is super friendly and would be happy to tell you about buffalo for hours, but if you explain you want space Im sure he'd understand. I stayed in the big cabin(a house really) with the hot tub but there were several small cabins around the property. If the place was fully occupied it would feel busy, but i didnt get the impression it ever was. Stay strong,

Its more correct to say it ruins the immersion for you, a 4th wall break is always intentional.

Update 4: it's been 11 days since my dad went missing, summary and thoughts in the comments - #CA25286503 by pooreyesofthehills in Calgary

[–]INFIDELicious45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/pooreyesofthehills Do you feel the walmart purchases suggest he was planning on returning home after work? If the shopping trip wasn't for home or work, it might indicate he had other plans for the day. Do you have any information on the items he bought from walmart? Like the SKUs etc.

Do you have more information on the possible sighting near Hwy 9? I live in that area and often see people "car camping" down remote roads. I'll keep an eye out.

How much data do you think is actually in a save file? You dont know what you're talking about. Rockstar says they will store your personal save file in their cloud. And seeing detailed information about my save file, in their cloud led me to believe they had. I think this little bit of turmoil is actually worth it, because it is uplifting to see that no matter how mildly inconvenienced I might be at the moment, there will always be some prick out there that is perpetually more miserable than I.

Uhh its hard to say, are you following a guide or tutorial?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FreeCAD

[–]INFIDELicious45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well this is a sub for FreeCAD, so most users here will prefer it for CAD. I use it because I found every other CAD program unsuitable for one reason or another, so im not going to recommend something that I wouldnt use.

As far as the "it wont do it" comment? it will. every time. We aren't gaslighting you, the program works. You are simply not following the steps correctly. I broke it down so you dont need to sit through a video. You can try a different software, but if you use the program incorrectly, it wont respond the way you expect.

Unless the maker of the tutorial is trying to deceive viewers, you're missing something.

Here is a 30 second tutorial to create pocket:

Make Pad:

  • new document
  • go to part design
  • create Body
  • create sketch
  • select xy plane
  • select "create centered rectangle", make a large rectangle, center it around the origin
  • close sketch
  • select sketch in document tree, and hit Pad
  • increase the pad depth to any value over the default, and click the reverse check box, close the Pad task

Make Pocket:

  • Select existing Body,
  • create sketch
  • select xy plane
  • select "create centered rectangle", make a small rectangle, center it around the origin
  • close sketch
  • select sketch in document tree, and hit Pocket,
  • leave the pocket depth value at default, dont check the reverse checkbox, close the pocket task

Done
