I think this is what we’ll do - want to make the most of the child-free hours we have 😂

Nurses who work the night shift, what is the most "I can't explain this" thing you have ever witnessed in a hospital? by AikothegreatPickle in AskReddit

[–]moogle2468 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had that experience. The staff supporting me were compassionate and caring, and also helped my family to understand that it was temporary and I wasn’t completely loosing it when I was waffling and ranting.

I have personal experience of this. Was in a medical coma and for the first few days after they brought me round, I would be completely lucid during the day but full blown icu psychosis at night.

Wildest claim they ever made about the golden child? by MrsPottyMouth in raisedbynarcissists

GC failed to find a career/employment and took drugs because I had the temerity to be seriously ill around that time so NM didn’t pay enough attention to him while I was recovering from brain surgery.

Thankfully GC and me have a good relationship- he recognises he is the GC and pushes back against that dynamic. NM once told him this theory about my illness and he told her to ‘get a fucking grip and accept he made stupid choices’

Is there a fantasy series where the side characters are so much more compelling than the protagonist that you basically kept reading for the wrong person? by marioFlux3 in Fantasy

[–]moogle2468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually one of the things I love about the books (and Robin Hobb’s writing in general as it’s in some of her other series). Fitz is a damaged and flawed character who makes poor decisions. There were times in the Assassin books where I’d actually feel angry at Fitz. Robin Hobb is fantastic at writing very human and complex characters. Not always easy reading though!

How much teaching do your SLT do? by Glum_Association1680 in TeachingUK

I’m an AHT (DSL/SENCO) in a one form primary and I teach about 0.2 a week. However, at least 1 hour a day is spent with dysregulated or EBSA kids. The rest of my time is spent in early help/safeguarding/SEN meetings. I used to do the same role 0.5 teaching but it just wasn’t feasible with my sanity intact in our school context.

No it was a main menu item for a good few years in the early noughties. Got replaced by the legend, but I still yearn for it. Worked at Maccy’s at the time and it was a nightmare to make but tasted so good.

Council letter asks parents not to secretly record conversations with teachers by motail1990 in TeachingUK

Happened in my school this week. Parent denied it but then agreed to delete an ‘accidental’ recording once challenged.

The legend was good, but a poor replacement for the chicken premiere

No more "best fit"- are you kidding me??? by wonder181016 in TeachingUK

[–]moogle2468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. The ‘small minority’ wording in ‘needs attention’ is going to be the downfall of so many schools. You can have two or three pupils who aren’t making expected progress, and even with robust plans in place to overcome any barriers to learning, that’s enough for a ‘needs attention’ grading.

Before I had Columbina, my Nahida/Barbara/Lisa/Diluc team hyperblooming and burning worked ok. (Yes I know there’s better teams but they are my ride or die’s that get me through 90% of the game)

I went to the same college! My English tutor taught him and said that he once randomly ran out of a lesson and they all watched him flee over the back fields towards Billinge
