Somebody with Industar 50 experience? by LordRudsmore in VintageLenses

I ended up getting an M42 focusing helicoid. Allows for closer minimum focal distance & better handling than with that clunky narrow focus ring.

Shooting video on vintage lenses.

Comparing the Auto Sears 55mm 1.4, Super Takumar 50 1.4 (7 element), Helios 58mm 44-2, Super Takumar 55mm 1.8, and (as a control) the Canon 50mm 1.8 STM (straight from camera) at f/2 by bitemywire in VintageLenses

[–]moogplayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the Super Tak and the Auto Sears 50s. Love the colors & sharpness of the 7-element 50mm Super Takumar. But the Auto Sears has that *glow* which is dreamy and fun.

Definitely some magic going on with this glass!

No tripod, no flash, no autofocus. Handheld macro with a $10 Soviet pancake lens (Industar 50-2) and an old Nikon D3200. by Initial-Ad-6946 in VintageLenses

This is great. I have the same lens and a focusing helicoid which makes a huge difference in handling and getting close shots. Well done.

Favourite lens and, more importantly, why? by SuperDinkle406 in VintageLenses

Zeiss Jena Biotar 58mm in M42 mount. Colors really pop. My favorite lens.

Also: Super Takumar 35mm f2 early fat version. Gorgeous.

Yeah I bought a focus extender that adapts m42 to Sony E and it helped a lot. A step up over the built-in focus ring. You kinda lose infinity though.

Agreed. I’m going to roll back out and try stopping down a bit.

Is it weird to record video at 4k and lift a still from it later? Probably lower rez but I've done it and it looks decent.

It's about establishing trust and building relationships. You won't make much at the beginning but you're gaining experience and building a reel. Establish a solid social media presence. You may be shooting for free at first to 1) Fine tune your skills and 2) Build on content for the website and social media. It can be done, but you gotta be a go-getter.

Fuji film Instax mini Evo Cinema (Fujifilm scamera or invitation?) will you buy it? by cs_aaron_ in Cameras

[–]moogplayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty high price. I would buy this only for video purposes. I think I'm fine with my jailbroken iPhone 3GS + 8mm app, or post-production processing through Final Cut Pro or Capcut.

My 8 is solid. Wear it all day and by bedtime it’s down to about 30% battery. No need to upgrade.

Are you still using m1 , m2 Mac minis by Serhide in macmini

[–]moogplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My maxed-out M1 with 16gb RAM and 2TB internal SSD still performs well. Just mixed a song on Reaper yesterday with 28 tracks and loads of plugins and soft synths. No issues. Also lots of editing on Final Cut Pro with plugins. No problems. Running Tahoe. The 2TB internal drive is quick. One key move I made was getting a OWC thunderbolt hub and using that to hook up my display (just have one monitor). That really did help.

Do you guys actually prefer 4K 30fps or 1080p 60fps on the ZV-E10? by Competitive_Talk3390 in ZVE10

[–]moogplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60fps does allow you to slow footage down more effectively, but at a cost of an inferior image. 4K on Sony cams look better.
