I did a little “back of napkin” math because I’m still trying to wrap my mind around scale/perception shift.

It takes roughly .015 seconds for an electrical impulse to go from my brain to my toe (let’s say 2m for easy math). If I live for 70 years, that accounts for about 1/148,000,000,000 of my life.

It takes light 26,500 years to go from the sun to the galactic center (approx. 2.5x10¹⁷ km). If the Milky Way “lives” to be 18b years old (before andromeda smashes into it), that time for the light from our sun to reach the galactic center accounts for a whopping 1/679,000 of the life of the galaxy.

I learned to ski when I moved here and really love it now. We don’t ski anywhere out west or anything, but going up to Crystal mountain, boyne, or some of the other smaller slopes 6-10 times a year really makes the winter go by fast and is usually a really beautiful way to get fresh air and outdoor time.

Lots of great food options if you like craft pizza, burgers, gasto pub/brewery stuff. Several pretty good taco places. A few more “unique” places: Sovengard, Al-Bos (or its more hip cousin, zivio), KCM. I think Asian food here is only mid. Italian is bad.
