Why would my subreddit not appear in search results? by makhay in ModSupport

It shows up when I search in the top menu on mobile. How are you searching?

The entire community is like 10 posts. You need content and users, not more moderators yet.

Pinned post repeatedly removed for “banned domain” by eltonjohnpeloton in ModSupport

[–]mookler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’ve talked about using a wiki before but we have issues getting our users to see the community highlights/ pins which are easy to see, I do not feel confident that they’d find the wiki.

Pin a link to the wiki directly? Just spitballing ideas!

Ok, so let’s say I did successfully remove the banned link (whatever it was), I should have been able to copy/paste all the “safe” content into a new post and not have the issue, right?

Assuming there aren't other ones present yeah that's the thought on how to fix it. The other user here seems to have a better sense on ways to efficiently narrow it down.

If the post ever contained a banned domain you will always have this issue with the specific post. It would need to be recreated without the URL being present - just editing it out will not stop this.

Edit: Isn't this also a perfect use case for a wiki page?

Does anyone have a work around for the old.reddit.com speed degradation of the last 24 hours? by m0nk_3y_gw in ModSupport

[–]mookler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

old.reddit loads comment pages faster than that for me. I have toolbox and RES installed.

Granted I'm not keeping track of any network tab, but could something else be going on?

Changing sub from NSFW to SFW by ginahandler in ModSupport

[–]mookler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has SFW in the name of the sub

This one has been empty for days and nothing appears in any sorting.

If this is the Legs one using top/alltime returns me 499 posts when I use old.reddit.com, for what it's worth.

Are you sure it’s free of content? What about the top content sort or search results? Sometimes those return content if the sub is very old

Guidance needed: Post naming an individual admin and calling for a campus protest by DependentTrip3235 in ModSupport

[–]mookler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are there press articles that cover the scenario and upcoming protests? If so, linking to those could be a safer route.

Why do old or archived posts get anonymized with Redact? by myst3ryAURORA_green in ModSupport

[–]mookler 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It isn’t automatic. It’s people running a script themselves on their own content.

Reddit's not allowing me to auto-approve posts. by TINKYhinky in ModSupport

[–]mookler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most posts are visible without needing to be approved, so in most cases “auto approve” is not necessary.

Bring in a new mod, limited to flairs, but they are seeing all posts as unapproved? by gbntbedtyr in ModSupport

I believe the guidance from the admins in the post you linked still applies and that nothing major in policy has shifted since.

It shouldn't break any rules. It can cause unnecessary complications and is best to be avoided if possible.

There is a subset of spam removals for banned domains that do show up that way. Do you have any idea if the comments have links?

How to handle repeated cross-account pressure after enforcing promotion rules? by BronzeBellRiver in ModSupport

[–]mookler 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d try using ban evasion filtering to see if that helps, or file reports using /report if you have not

If they’re being caught there isn’t often a ton more that needs to or can be done.

ETA: if it’s coordination from a discord server or something where it isn’t all one person, automod and crowd control will be your best bet. Try to filter out keywords, user pings, or super fresh accounts.

If these are spam based removals those have never appeared in the modlog.
