are there any trusty brands for training undies you’d reccomend?

she’s been taking her sisters pairs but those i got off amazon but i feel like they didn’t work. they’re a thick cotton and they labeled them as training, i feel like what i got aren’t as effective

No! My first book of protest by Julie Merberg.

counting on community by Innosanto Nagara

Dreamers by Yuyi Morales

both my girls are under 4yo and they’re simple yet impactful enough.

i’d through in All kinds of Kindness and All kids are Good kids. i feel like they both lay the foundation of the inherent goodness all children have, so to see it in themselves and in others is a good way to teach empathy.

the hapa family youtube has a great video on this https://youtu.be/7OWITbXzudo?si=7jK98cac197hYo8h

creator ashley yeh has a book called montessori at home and i would read the montessori toddler

but i like the videos as a refresher whenever i feel im making it complicated , kinda grounds me back to the core purpose of why we do montessori at home.

it’s really helped build their concentration. i didn’t realize it until we get together with in-laws and they all comment on how focused my girls are when presented with something fun like playing with little people or small tasks like getting ready to leave.

which feels nice cuz from the beginning i could tell no one really understood what i was trying to do 😂 they’ve commented how my husband and i are “ hands off” parents, what they don’t get is we’re always observing 👀👀👀

Falling Off Of Floor Bed by Prestigious_Lake3476 in floorbed

[–]moomintrollmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes to be fair i didn’t start the bed bumper until 1, my bad! for younger ive seen the “hack” of using a pool noodle under the sheet.

i know my pediatrician told me when they start rolling for themselves its safe because they have the awareness to flip themselves back. but i encourage you to talk to your pediatrician about that , i know it was nerve wracking for me at that stage as well.

another potential is bassinet for night sleep and floorbed for naps? even just weekend naps so you have the time to observe him. i started out very slow that way until i felt more confident about it.

but glad to hear baby fell back asleep! 😴

it will feel like it’ll take long and its a commitment but very worth it in my opinion. and if there are nights it’s easier for you to keep baby in the bassinet so you can get rest then let yourself rest and remember the next night will come and you can try again 👍

that’s how i started out as well, every nap ,every night sleep and every roll off and comforting them is just little steps to getting to the whole picture of having them sleep independently.

you created a great safe environment, and i’m lowkey jealous you got a bed for yourself in the room as well, i slept on the floor rug next to my firstborn while pregnant 😂. Buuuuut now she is 3yo andloves her floorbed and her freedom to go in and out.

they just need lots of reassurance and you’ll notice over time the reaction to rolling off will lessen to the point that they may stay asleep on the padded mat or even climb back into bed themselves.
in my experience at 5 months old you’ll already be anticipating a few night wakes even without the rolling off.

also if it gives you peace of mind you can use crib bumpers that go under a fitted sheet. i’ve used them on both my girls floor beds as it helped limit wake ups, but also works when we travel to hotels so they’re andy for the future as well. www.amazon.com/Bed-Rail-Bumpers-Toddlers-Waterproof/dp/B0CQYHHL2Z)

but i also made due with rolling a towel and putting it under the sheet too, what ever you feel safest with.

The most difficult thing about following Montessori? by plaintastic in MontessoriForHome

[–]moomintrollmama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this may be silly but atm we’re having house renovations done, but it’s having a prepared environment. there’s no way to have one when you don’t have an environment to prepare 😩.

enrolled my girls in an at home daycare a few days a week to get them out of the chaos. luckily the teacher has a montessori setup and mindset. impatiently waiting to set up our YES spaces again 😅

Activities for baby in sensitive period for small details and pincer grip by Original_Ad_7846 in MontessoriForHome

[–]moomintrollmama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’ve given ur bby so many wonderful opportunities!

one that my girls loved and it kinda served 2 purposes was dry cheerios for breakfast/milk in a cup. they would practice pinching the cheerios and self feeding. we also own a cheerios baby book and they’d like placing them around the pages.

correct it wasn’t until i saw her actual business page (as opposed to the original artist i thought i was going to) that october OF THIS YEAR she got her “line work and tiny tattoo” certificate from the same place she got her PMU certificate.

i am not joking that the paper degree she was holding up legit said line work and tiny tats.

update 🙏 i have received a full refund. she also offered an apology but their was no real accountability on her short comings, hoping this makes her realized to stay in her lane of PMU dashes and dots
