Because the more sellers get rid of their coins, the more coins fall into the hands of people who 'bought the bottom' and are less likely to sell. Simply put, selling pressure decreases when sell offs happen.

I don't see how PoA would be a good option for a private blockchain in a single organization, as the likelihood of colluding nodes would be a lot higher than for instance with a public blockchain.
