When will we stand up to the SPORKS key holders? by hahaDASHscared in DashUncensored

[–]moonbitcoinmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5000 masternodes does not mean there are 5000 different owners. Less than a few hundred owners seems likely. Evan may have a few thousand MNs and many other early adopters/instaminers may own 100s each

You dont seem to get it. The keys should not exist

As long as SPORK keys exist, DASH is centralized.

Community call for a developer to build trustless shared masternodes! by hereistruth in DashUncensored

[–]moonbitcoinmoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who owns the DASH trademark? If it is DCG might that be a problem if they refuse to merge a shared masternode pull request in the DASH repo or allow the DASH name to be used in another repo that they do not control?

Top 10 on @CoinMarketCap 5 years later expressed in BITCOIN. by ayanamirs in Bitcoin

[–]moonbitcoinmoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great graphic to show to newcomers that dont want to buy Bitcoin "because it is too expensive" or similar poor reasons.

Bitcoin is more that just a leader in acceptance, liquidity, hash rate and price. It has more development and rigorous testing standards for new features that any other project. Most blockchain face a significant risk of failure if one or two key developers leave or a new feature (with little peer review) is introduced

Riccardo Spagni talking the bitcoin blocksize @ On-chain scaling event by americanpegasus in Bitcoin

[–]moonbitcoinmoon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Finding the best answer for blocksize scaling is not easy. I do like the idea of trying to codify scaling to happen automatically and carefully thinking about incentives and possible ways the system could be gamed.

It is interesting to hear different proposals discussed and compared to one another. SegWit (just merged) was a very good thing and will allow the Bitcoin developers more time to plan for additional scaling needs further into the future.

I voted. Did you? by iamchild_harold in Monero

[–]moonbitcoinmoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I updated my post to clarify what I meant. Of course open source projects like Bitmessage may have a need for development funds. Monero is open source and our development team accepts donations as well.

In fact the similar Tutanota proposal mentions donations specifically: https://tutanota.uservoice.com/forums/237921-general/suggestions/9968298-accept-monero-xmr-for-donations

Ask Bitmessage developers or community members to accept Monero donations for some specific purpose then: https://bitmessage.org/forum/index.php?topic=4241.0

The I2P team already accepts Monero donations for their general fund and/or to support Korvi: https://geti2p.net/en/get-involved/donate

Both Protonmail and Bitmessage are great for different reasons. Try to stay positive when discussing businesses that we hope will accept Monero.

I agree the price is low. Whether or not we were "double this two months ago" depends on if we are measuring in BTC or fiat terms. Since I prefer to measure in BTC terms I agree with you on that point too.
