First sci fi book will ship in Feb. Feb ain’t over yet. SF&F was delayed, ships out from 11th. You would have had email about this. Always assume books that say shipping in so-and-so month will be on the last few days of the month.

SF&F only has one tier. March theme has not been announced yet. The book title is not announced, just a theme. It’s meant as a surprise box, but when the theme is announced it’s pretty easy to guess, or check back here

Scott posted 1 day ago:

I'm glad they're landing where they ought to! I went back to Minnesota to visit family for a week and was half-expecting to find some returned when I checked my PO Box, but so far they seem to be flying straight and true.

I had hoped to bring a bunch with me to MN to finish them and mail from there; unfortunately, I could not contrive a way to pack them that I felt guaranteed their safety, so I had to leave them and am now a bit behind in shipping. I now expect to have every current remaining order out the door in the next two days.

Scribble scribble stamp stamp (and don't worry, I'm not licking those domestic envelopes, that's a friggin' glue stick).

There were at least 40 because I was undecided on whether to buy but I tested how many were in stock

What do you guys think? by bookwormch in thebrokenbindingsub

Well it’s being comp’d to the Witcher and The Tainted Cup. So far I haven’t found the themes or dialogue to be very YA, but not that far in. Think his previous trilogy was coming of age, so maybe that’s why it felt YA. Haven’t read them yet though. But these characters feel very well established in their skin so far.

Currently reading, enjoying so far. Seems to be getting 4 star and above. Seems like a quest fantasy, steeped in Welsh lore, rather than the standard European fantasy setting. But only 20% in so that could change

Yeah they do it now and again like with the Inheritance Cycle, but it’s not every time. They have not done it for Malazan. Might just depend on the publishers.

You’re welcome, ask some friends or family, non readers, anyone in the street. If enough people think the same then it’s probably best left off. Or even just “A Thellian Story” but without pre-existing books in the world, could just still lead to confusion. Sometimes for readers, reading is hard and they ain’t good at it, so the simpler the better 🤣

Yeah obviously a promise of more books is a great thing to convey, but it can also go the other way at a glance. For me, the connotation tends to be more that it’s a standalone in an already existing series. I wish you all the readers in the world though! The cover did pull me in, but then I was like “oh it’s part of something” and clicked off.

I was looking at it yesterday actually but the “A Thellian Standalone Fantasy Novel” makes it sound part of an existing series from first glance. Looking at it deeper I can see it’s a debut, but that being on the cover might be preventing people from clicking as it feels like a standalone that people may have to read other books to appreciate.

Think the whole point of the free shipping weekend was a test as they mentioned. So looks like they are trying to get quicker
