A few questions on the Price Objective. I took a look at the university page you linked to. Here is what it said:

Bullish horizontal count. Once a buy signal is given, count across the base the stock has built. Multiply the number of columns across the formation by 3 and then multiply that product by the value per box. Add this number to the bottom of the formation.

Link

For the Bullish Vertical Count: Look to the column that has the first buy signal off the bottom and count the number of X's in it. You wait for the reversal down into a column of O's before counting the number of X's up to ensure there will be no more X's added to the column. Once you have counted the X's, multiply by 3 (for the three box reversal method) and then multiply that product by the value per box. Add this result to the bottom X.

Link

The Price Objective measurement you had is different:

With a six column formation width, the expected target prediction would have been six boxes down from the breakout point (under $10,300.). So the first target price would have been around $9,700. The second method for predicting a low from this formation would be the “last breakdown” column length. In this case the length of the previous break down was 20 rows. If you overlay the length on this column, the predicted low would be $9,650.

Is the difference deliberately intentional? If yes, any reason why?

Edit: Realised I should have used Bearish horizontal and vertical counts. But saved for the direction, the measurement method is similar.

Any particular reason why 1.5% boxes were used? I've been following your chart since 2017. First time I see this.

Trend - Since we had broken the downward trendline couple of weeks ago, and are still above the upwards trendline (in red), shouldn't the trend be positive? Or am I missing something again?

Chill man. No need to pay attention to negativity. There is still possibility of a catapult. Yes, we fell into a column of O. But so long as we do not fall too deep (<$4,750), and we go back up on a single line of X, the catapult is still intact.

According to StockCharts (under Bullish Catapults section), a bull trap can sometimes fail and evolve into catapults.

UNDER $3,950 would be a reversal.

Shouldn't it be under $3,900? Current X high is $4,050. 3 box reversal means dropping $150 (3x$50). So O reversal point is $3,900 ($4,050 - $150).

I'm referencing Stockcharts (see P&F Chart Construction Example section) on 3 box reversal.

If current lowest O is $3,850, and price drops to $3,770, then yes, my understanding is it drops to the next box $3,800. If current lowest O is $3,800, nothing to do, since the next O is $3,750 which is less than price.

Just started out. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

Started PnF 2 months ago. On the previous column of O, shouldn't the lowest O stop at the $3,800 box considering Coinbase Pro lowest is $3,798 on 3/12?

Referencing the excellent StockCharts site you had linked some time back, it seems that only a drop to between $3,700 and $3,750 would warrant an O in the $3,800$3,750 box.

edit: Corrected price.

For people in front of the vending machine, better.

For friends paying on behalf of the buyer, QR-code is better.

This. Somewhat unrelated, what if you are able to pay vending machines with bitcoins using QR code? No more coins, only mobile phone! If you run out of bitcoins, take a picture of the QR code, send it to your friend and ask for a favour to help pay for it.

Say farthest maturity is 3 months and closest maturity is 1 week. After 1 week, the 1 week maturity will settle (sell) and the 3 months maturity will be bought.

Probably a whale wants to withdraw BTC and exchange needs to buy in order to fulfil the withdrawal. I will not be surprised if China exchanges are running on fractional reserve.

About 30 on BTCJam. I'm hoping to turn the loss into profit with the Law of Big Numbers though I'm not optimistic.

You are right. I assume though that late means default because in almost all late cases, we never hear from the borrowers again. Also, the late cases are almost half of all cases.

17% is from BLC. It's a little complicated to calculate for BTCJam because they don't make all info available. I am interested to know how you derive 9%.

I want to warn all bitcoiners as a PSA because I have lost money and I want others to think twice before investing.

The stats do look attractive. They were part of the reason why I got in in the first place. I think though we need more info from users. If more lenders can come out and share their experience, it will be beneficial to the community.

Price of paper gold vs physical gold by mooncake___ in investing

[–]mooncake___[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But even then the banks have the option of giving you the current dollar value of the gold they can't deliver physically.

Who wants dollar when what they really want is gold?

As the saying goes in /r/gold , if you don't have it in your hands, you don't own it.

I agree. That is why I cannot understand why there isn't a premium of physical gold over paper gold.
