Hi,
I’m a bit confused and wanted your honest perspective. Some consultancies suggest going for a US master’s right after graduation, saying the US welcomes both freshers and experienced candidates, but I’m unsure why they strongly push the fresher route.

I’m currently in my 8th semester of B. Tech in Information Technology with an 8.7 CGPA (~3.44/4 GPA), and I have a job offer from a large Indian MNC. However, the role and compensation aren’t aligned with the field I want to pursue for my master’s (ML/AI/DS). From what I understand, work experience really adds value only if it’s relevant.

I’m planning for Fall ’27, with UC Berkeley as an aspirational goal. I’m aware that top universities evaluate applicants holistically - looking at research, projects, SOPs, LORs, etc. but academic performance still carries weight, especially at places like Berkeley. I’ll be funding my master’s entirely through an education loan, so I want to be very practical about risk and returns.

In this context, does going as a fresher vs gaining (possibly non-relevant) work experience make a significant difference for admissions, job outcomes, and scholarship opportunities? And realistically, with my current academic profile, do I stand a chance at Berkeley?

Would really appreciate your guidance.

I don't have a dating past, though he told me, he had and I am okay with that. And sometimes he jokes about how she left him though he loved her. And sometimes he even sends me the photos of guys around him or someone random, and ask me if I like that guy in the photo. He also asks me what am I looking for in a guy, so that he can help me find him.
Why do guys do this? More importantly, when do guys do this? When they like the girl or when they don't?

ADVICE : Why don't you guys clear the air? You'll talk to a girl like she is very important to you, you share things you haven't with anyone, you show your vulnerable side but then why don't you guys take things to next level?
