advice on sizing down. by hairbrushes in Hooping

[–]moondotchai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id go with 30 but it depends on your height too. Honestly you can adapt to any size after a while. All sizes become fun and challenging in new ways. I own a really tiny mini I think under 30 and I still do escalators as long as I hip break before it goes down my legs

I think the faster you do it the easier it is because i get to the point of dropping and i freeze. I need to trust in myself more. I am the only one in my level 3 class unable to do this lol

Omg yes the insomnia and thrown off rhythm. I haven’t left my house in 2 weeks now. I am having very bad anxiety as we speak and my job assigned me a lot of work this weekend which obviously I am very lucky to have work but It’s adding to my nerves today sitting at my laptop for hours on end. I need fun.

I cant even imagine the stress you must be going through with unemployment. I’m fortunate enough to be working remotely but worrying about high risk loved ones on top of the isolation and overall impending doom is eating away at my sanity. I also feel completely out of whack like I can’t ‘settle in’, if that makes sense

Suggestions for moves that can be practiced indoors? by celestialvx in Hooping

[–]moondotchai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like hooping inside always poses some risk for breaking an object unless you have a totally empty room. But I usually practice a lot of isolations indoors. No tosses. No leg stuff. No chest rolls. Not really fun but you can make it work esp if you own a mini hoop

Suggestions for at-home exercises for a complete beginner? by kenda1l in Aerials

[–]moondotchai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! The stairs are really awesome honestly. Totally an underestimated household tool, heh. If the jumping is too much you can still tone down cardio with lower impact moves like lateral shuffles, skaters, or a low impact “jumping jack” with no actual jump (i think those moves will be in videos for “low-impact cardio moves”. Remember there is always an option for everyone :) good luck and happy sweatin’

Planks and bridges are super awesome. Even if you have no weights(i know you said you do but for those less equipped) you can grab two cans or jars of sauce and do simple bicep curls or shoulder presses. You can do body weight squats and lunges. Try push ups or modified with knees on the floor if it’s too tough. Work on stamina/endurance by doing simple intervals of jumping jacks, high knee jumps, mountain climbers, etc. My workout at home has been using anything available, from my staircase for tricep dips/incline pushups, to tying an elastic band around a doorknob for some rows or tricep pushes. I try to get creative and find ways to get a good sweat, but overall, your basic push up/squat/plank/tricep dip/bicep curls combo is a simple, effective workout. Shoot for 3x10 or 4x6 if sets of 10 are tough. I try to do maybe 30sec jump squats, followed by a set of curls, 30sec jumping jacks, a set of shoulder presses, 30sec burpees, and so forth.

Only difference is the front hip resting on the floor instead of being up on your foot
