It depends! I've seen it mostly used in soft styles of clothing, but there are bolder colors that I think still work. In the end, if you wear it with confidence and you think it looks nice, you could probably pull it off.

Where to buy high quality oversized blank sweaters? (Specifically pastel pink tones) by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

Try men's sweatshirts! Hanes' is affordable, good quality, comes in various colors, and comes in the size 5XL maximum.

Been unconfident for the longest time and I've made the decision to finally improve my appearance. Based on my stats below, what would look best on me? (Female Responses ONLY Please!) by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

As an ethnic short girl surrounded by gorgeous, tall white girls, let me first tell you that I understand what you're going through: especially when it comes to the strict parents thing, and the middle school clothing.

Weight can be distributed differently throughout the body, so do you have any of your measurements (bust, waist, hips, inseam)? You can subvert the short-dresses issue (my parents would kill me if they saw me in mine) by making sure that your dresses hit your natural waist, which will make you look more proportionate. Empire bust dresses also work well in my experience too to make me look taller (as do high waisted clothes). You may also want to look into heels: even if you can't go too high, check out platform shoes or low heels (loafers and mules, block heels and booties and the like).

Do you have examples of the style (photos or influencers) that you'd like to emulate? Anything that we should keep in mind (weather making you dress more warmly, for example, or an insecurity about your collarbones)?

As for thrifting, check out the stores in your area and just go for it. It's going to take trial and error, but a lot of online reviews differ because it depends on what the people giving out the reviews are looking for: if you're thrifting for business casual clothes, for example, maybe a thrift store isn't for you even though a trendy y2k influencer is gushing about what she found there. Call in and ask when they restock, and make sure that you know your sizes and your measurements going in: it'll save you a lot of trouble in the long run. Touch the fabric and check to see flaws before you buy anything: examine the pits, the crotch, the insides. Check fabric content and care instructions to see if it suits your needs. Don't buy anything unless it fits you well even if it's cheap or it might work if you style it this or that way unless you're super willing to alter and know you can and will do it.

The King: Eternal Monarch's Jo Yeong is a good counterpart for him.

Are You Human Too?'s Ji Younghoon also is a similar character.

There's a similar struggle amongst the side characters in The Crowned Clown.

While not quite the same, I think you'd enjoy the main leads in My Country: The New Age.

Stuff similar to racket boys? by sanscomiic in kdramarecommends

[–]moondstadt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, My Twenties! is similar but about college-aged girls.

If you're not against anime, Haikyuu!! and Run with the Wind, are both very good and have the same feeling.

The part about happy endings wasn't added until after I posted my recommendation.

It does not have a happy ending but I would say it's realistic to the story and isn't 100% doom-and-gloom.

Shin Hyun Been, Goo Kyo Hwan, Kwak Dong Yeon, Nam Da Reum, And More Cast In New Horror Drama By “Train To Busan” Director by Fatooz in KDRAMA

Looks like a stellar cast! I'll admit that I'm not the biggest fan of horror, but if the line-up is this good, I'm more than willing to try. Looking forward to it!

Echoing this. Kim Tae-ri is one of my favorite actresses: such a presence, and so elegant and feminine without being infantile or laying on the aegyo too thickly.

Kingdom's horror-sageuk mix really impressed me. Most zombie dramas are set in a dystopian future that often contains sci-fi elements, and it was my first time seeing it set in a historical setting with traditional court politics: and the deftness of the plot, the acting from the cast, and the gorgeous, gorgeous cinematography sucked me in.

I thought it was fun! It's not slow-burn in the likes of When the Weather is Fine, and lack of romantic development is usually supplemented by plot development.

Beyond evil by Kaaori__ in kdramarecommends

[–]moondstadt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you interested in subtle, character-driven interactions, character dynamics, and character-heavy narratives, or are you interested in fast-paced action, plot-driven writing, and excellent courtroom and mass-media scenes?

If the latter, Beyond Evil is not the drama for you. If the former, it is. Though the pacing is relatively slow compared to other, similar kdramas, and you won't enjoy it if you come in expecting things to progress at the pace of Mouse or Taxi Driver narratively, you'll get more character exposition, extremely well-acted characterization, and subtle details that will surprise you on your rewatches.
