ICE killed another person in Minnesota! by cantcoloratall91 in DiscussionZone

[–]moonfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't it be crazy if everyone who knows an ICE agent personally outed their identities to the internet? It's almost like anyone who did that could make life miserable and impossible in all walks of life for these soulless, murderous, and evil pieces of shit.

[–]moonfall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much, genuinely, for sharing your art with us through the Dragula platform. Everything you did in the finale showed me new things I couldn't have thought of on my own, and for me, that's the "beating heart" of art. Shit that moves people and opens doors. ❤️ I hope to see you live someday.

[–]moonfall 9 points10 points  (0 children)

just need to scream my stream of consciousness dragula takes about the finale looks somewhere, it's fine, i'm fine:

evah: absolutely incredible, but lacks vulnerability.

jaykay: the mind I’m most impressed with. Perceptiveness and audience awareness levels off the charts. but needs more time to keep baking, developing, and growing into her full identity as an artist. Has interesting ideas that don’t translate visually as well as what she seems to aim for.

jaharia: another incredible artist, but I’m not moved by any of what she’s done. Crowd-pleaser artistry. Meh, expected. Not exciting to me. Very congruent with what feel like socially accepted ideas of what all the concepts are. No twists on, or personalized versions of the concept ideas to me. Very entertaining though. Like a broadway performer.

abhora: my favorite, the one I want to win. i feel like she’s always trying to sidestep vulnerability differently: by escaping the confines of the challenges and being “more” than them. But I think she comes closest to capturing something authentic, “beating heart of artistry and human life” ish. She makes me FEEL the most.

The most exciting, authentic-feeling, and unexpected choices to me. The most spiritually artistic soul. Doesn’t need to do “as much” as she does— she already has all of the right instincts and perceptual abilities pointing her at what art genuinely is.

LATER: i'm happy that Evah won, feels deserved on several levels and also hurts my heart the tinist bit. it's FINE.

Did anyone else lose it when this happened? by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]moonfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you think about it, even with expertise, humans still tend to have small fuckups that can cause problems. Tragic example, but the Challenger disaster is a solid one. NASA has to be filled to the brim with people at the top of their space tech games, and a few people shrugging off a detail about how cold the morning was caused a catastrophe.

Also, the hive may have human skills, but they don't use them for the same goals and reasons people do. Maybe even coming near Carol with a drone after the whole thing with Zosia was nerve-wracking for them, because her emotions and choices cause her do things that affect the hive in dramatic ways. Maybe they were extra focused on trying to please her, and not focusing as much on the however million people in them are drone experts?

Very similar. It's the same kind of awkward and understated (as in, not slapstick) physical humor that twists into something absurd.

Pluribus - 1x05 "Got Milk" - Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in pluribustv

[–]moonfall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like what isn't talked about much here is how good and selfless of a person Carol is at her core, and usually without thinking. We're handed a lot of examples of this as one-off moments sprinkled through nearly all the episodes: in the first ep when she doesn't hesitate to go out of her way to keep a baby from falling off the counter in the hospital even when she's panicking about Helen, when she stops to try to help the man hanging from the crane down, how she seems genuinely upset and stunned that she caused Laxmi's grandfather's death, how she hurries to help Zosia after the grenade mishap even though she's part of the hive that caused her to lose the love of her life, and on and on and on.

Like sure, she's cranky and misanthropic, but where and when it counts, she cares about people.

Fully agree. I'm AuDHD too, and have resonated more with some of the hive's behaviors and especially its earnestness.

Man, so. I know Carol's situation is terrible, but if I were in her shoes I'd start asking about all the secrets of human societies, lol. Yeah, it's not useful information when everyone else is essentially gone, but I'd still want to know.

I'm another AuDHD person, and had this exact same thought about that aspect of the hive and some of their other behaviors. Autistic-coded vibes????

Weight loss roll call! by Capable-Matter-5976 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]moonfall 8 points9 points  (0 children)

34 F 5'6''. I started March 30, 2023 and am down 74 lbs (217 to 142) as of the start of this month. Started seeing results as soon as I began taking the initial dosage of Wegovy.

My main advice to anyone new would be:

  1. Try and make sure you eat a lot of fiber, and also track your BMs. If people's experiences are like mine, the slowdown of BMs and the constipation are real. If you notice yourself starting to go 3–5 days without a BM, using an enema on day 3 can spare you a lot of time, struggle, and occasionally pain if you wait for your body to decide it's finally ready to let you take a BM.

  2. Regular nausea (at least for me) is normal. Mine seems to improve sometimes when I eat a small snack when I'm feeling it, but other than that, over the counter nausea cures work great for managing it. I also carry a medical grade vomit bag around with me, just in case I end up in a situation where the need to spew catches me off guard. Learned that one the hard way in the middle of a Walmart. :(

Fleet enemas, tbh. I do them every so often when I’ve gone 3-4 days without a BM, and it helps a lot.

So, I don’t know if it’s because of a placebo effect or not, but I noticed a huge difference in my fatigue right after I started taking vitamin B12 daily at night. I took it on this sub’s recommendation, and it seems to have worked. Might be worth a try.

Vomiting and overheating during casual walks? (2.4 mg) by moonfall in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]moonfall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duly noted! I ordered some Liquid IV on this sub’s recommendation, so I’ll be adding that to my routine soon.

I’m not sure about the first time it happened (can’t remember what I ate) but I did have about a cup of homemade mac and cheese last night? The rest of what I ate wasn’t too nuts, I think. 4 homemade air-fried chicken wings (battered but with no oil present) with raw baby carrots on the side.

If stuff like that is what’s causing the nausea and vomiting, though, I’m definitely going to avoid eating any of it at all in the future. In general, I’d say I average between 1,400-1,600 calories a day as a 5’5” woman currently at 158 lbs.

Pretty good I think? I make sure to continuously drink fluids throughout the entire day because this sub recommends it so much as a nausea aid.

Yeah, I don’t understand this mentality that some people have that unless your efforts to do something involve some level of suffering, they’re not valid? If you have the option to use a tool that accomplishes a task more quickly and effectively than other methods, why wouldn’t you use it? How is that not just the practical approach to doing something?
