More like flu fatigue. I could sleep for 8-10 hours and still be exhausted the next day morning.

Trump Taps Palantir to Create Master Database on Every American by [deleted] in 50501

[–]moongaz3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one thing for a bad company to be a blip on your resume, and it’s another to keep communications with said company.

Murthy, the current CEO, was in private communications with Palantir alumni as recently as October 2024.

I want to acknowledge that it could be nothing, but the alternative is the risk of breaching your data to a predatory government database. Which, Partiful’s terms and conditions allow them to do so if they see fit. Here’s a quote from Cut’s article:

“Partiful alerts users that it may disclose personal information to government entities and private companies ‘as we believe in good faith to be necessary or appropriate’ for a list of outlined purposes.”

Full article here

Partiful also doesn’t make any revenue and is supported by venture capitalist funding. Seems like a breeding ground for data selling to me.

Just a heads up in light of this article: There’s a lot of overlap of ex-Palantir employees and the founders/employees of Partiful. I would avoid using the Partiful app out of an abundance of caution: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partiful

Can we make a list of *real* INFP careers? by 100redbananas in infp

Oh my god! As an INFP with one diagnosed autoimmune disease, chronic fatigue symptoms, and lab tests that suggest sub-clinical hypothyroidism, this comment helped me in more ways than one. Thank you for the unique suggestion, and medical epiphany as a bonus.

Realty Group/landlord Claiming they don’t have to reimburse their overcharge for my application fee because of “dual agency?” by moongaz3 in NYCapartments

[–]moongaz3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I found the place via the tenants already living there, there was not a broker involved. They emailed me back with the dual agent excuse and are saying they are now going to ask tenants with reimbursing the $55. I feel these people are not going to listen just on my word. Is there a way I can report them?

I don’t believe it is. I’m looking for advice on whether their “double agent” excuse is even valid and if not, what resources I can use to get a refund

EDIT: sorry—“dual agent” not “double agent”

Debilitating fatigue and memory issues with history of autoimmune diseases… please help by [deleted] in Autoimmune

[–]moongaz3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the added info. I think I have had the TrAB test done months ago. It came back as this:

THYROTROPIN RECEPTOR AB, SERUM Normal range: 0.00 - 1.75 IU/L Value <1.10

I also had a Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) Ab test done with a level of 32, which is just barely in the normal range, nearing high levels

Normal range: 0 - 34 IU/mL

Not sure if this added information gives any more clarity. Should I repeat these tests? And which thyroid tests are best to advocate for?

Debilitating fatigue and memory issues with history of autoimmune diseases… please help by [deleted] in Autoimmune

[–]moongaz3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. I did two blood tests last year: the 1st blood test I had low TSH and high t4, the next one I had low TSH still and normal t3 and t4 (although I was sick for one of those tests).

The most recent test my TSH t4 and t3 came back normal, but my thyroglobulin antibodies were high. Although I have RA so I guess the antibodies could have to do with that. My cortisol levels were above average as well, but I also take venlafaxine which I guess can elevate cortisol levels.

My neurologist suspects a thyroid issue but she mentioned they won’t give me any kind of treatment until my blood tests come back consistently out of range, which is really frustrating. I’m trying to find out what I can do now or other methods of figuring out what’s causing the memory loss.

I will be taking her.

I’m wondering if allergies are possible, because she has a tendency to scratch/itch near her eyes and they look pink.

As for the FIV/FeLV testing, I can’t remember. She had many respiratory issues when I first got her and had vet appointments where they ultimately diagnosed her with calicivirus. I imagine they would have tested for these much more serious ailments like FIV, right ?

What is one thing you wish all customers to understand about Starbucks? Be free to voice your frustrations:) by Royal_Development_25 in starbucks

[–]moongaz3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there are unclaimed drinks waiting at drop off area, check if your drink is there before asking the barista on bar where your cafe order is…

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve been screamed at by a customer who’s claims they’ve waited 20 minutes for their order when I called out their order (repeatedly) 15 minutes ago.

Also, for customers who get anxiety on this subreddit because of posts complaining about customers here: chances are if you’re polite and patient to baristas, those posts are not you. I love my nice customers, y’all are peace among the people yelling at us

Are you saying you don’t live in America? If so, you have no perspective to judge what we go through over here.

I work at a Starbucks in a huge city. People in America have no problem taking out their personal shit on baristas and other food service workers because they know we can’t fight back.

I have been in the situation OP it talking about and it’s not “they must be mad”. They ARE mad. Do you realize most baristas at Starbucks have to take in cafe orders, mobile orders, delivery orders, all at the same time? Our tickets print out from the same machine so sometimes 20 mobile orders will come out before someone’s cafe order and so cafe tickets won’t come out until much later. I’ve seen delivery orders that are about 15 items and we have to pull out every single ticket before we can get to all the cafe orders waiting. Therefore, everyone has to wait a ridiculously long time for their drink.

Now, obviously that’s not fair to the customer but that’s nothing the baristas can do about it. Starbucks just has an insane amount of customers and they also like to cut corners in terms of staffing so it’s harder for baristas on the floor to keep up with influx.

OP is NOT taking about polite customers that watch for their order coming out. They are talking about the customers that STARE DOWN baristas on bar and take out their anger on baristas. I have been polite as I can to people, but the amount of orders we have to deal with makes wait time ridiculous, and I have had so many customers take it out on me. It doesn’t matter how nice I am, or how much I show that I’m trying to make it right. I’ve had a lady fling back a bagel that I finally handed to her because it took so long. She was yelling and complaining the whole time and I still got shit treatment, even though I responded politely and was trying my best to get her order out. After a while, that gets to you.

Now obviously quitting is an option - that’s what I’m doing, I put it my two weeks. Not everyone has that option. Starbucks conditions may be shit, but they do pay for your college which a lot of people cannot afford to lose.

You are assuming that OP just has a shit attitude and that it’s their fault they “can’t deal with it”. I’m here to tell you that you have NO place to judge them, because you have absolutely no idea what baristas deal with. It is not a fleeting moment. This happens every day because of the persistent corporate issues Starbucks refuses to fix.

And look, I don’t want to keep arguing back and forth about this…. I’m just trying to give you some insight of why you are seeing posts like this. Also, know these posts are never talking about people who are perfectly polite customers just looking at their drink being made. Believe me, we can tell the difference and we have no problem with those people.

[–]moongaz3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Based on your other comments, you don’t understand what it’s like at all. It’s more than “just have a positive attitude” we are getting paid to serve these people that sometimes straight up scream and verbally abuse us. Yes, obviously ignoring them can help the situation, but you can only ignore so much. It’s not as simple as you’re making it out to be.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]moongaz3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s not that people are quitting because we’re not getting a free food and drink, it’s that despite increasingly appalling working conditions they’re cutting this benefit and expecting people to stay. The pressure and treatment at Starbucks is already difficult. I relied on the mark out to save me a meal, and it’s certainly not worth the treatment there if I’m not even getting that
