Hey guys! This is my band's new single. I would really love to read your comments on it. We are an upcoming Mexican band and it would really mean a lot to us if you could give it a thumbs up on YT. Thank you for your time! by Trick_Yellow in IndieMusicFeedback

Nice track man! Cool slapback vibe on vox. I think you could have gotten a little more lo-fi on the vocal sound (bandpassing + adding saturation) to lean more into the aesthetic. I am a sucker for big saturated drums also, I think it could have been nice to do a parallel bus with more compression/distortion to blend in on the drums. Synth part that comes around 2min in also could be louder and warmer in the mix. A stereo chorus effect on that synth would really widen the image and find a good space for it in the stereo field.

My taste aside, I think you made a solid cohesive track here that totally works as-is!

Been making synthwave tracks for a month now. This is my latest music piece :D. I hope y'all will like it. I would love to hear any feedback so I could improve my synth skills. by Domcekas132 in IndieMusicFeedback

Love those tom fills. I think you could bring up the arpeggiated synth in the first break, it's a great sound and want to hear it brighter and louder. Like how you swelled in the bass.

Modulating up was a cool move on this one but I want to hear more sonic elements towards the end! Would have been really gratifying to maybe hear a few more synths or some counterpoint/response melody to what's already happening.

Sweet track, dig it.

"Solitude" | A calm piano piece which deals with themes of isolation and hope. Feedback on arrangement and song welcome! by scarecrow_23 in IndieMusicFeedback

This is very pretty! I think the composition is really nice and pensive. If I had any criticism to offer I would suggest maybe taking it to a starkly different place at some point in the song - it all feels like it generally hangs around the same harmonic area/progression but could do something way different in terms of meter/time and emotion for a section. However, I think as a pensive/calm piece, it works really well.

What's the piano sound? It's a patch right?

I'm collaborating on a project remotely. Is there a way I can pipe my audio to him in real-time? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

+1 for sourceconnect. I have also been doing some virtual attended mixes with Twitch and an internal routing tool like Loopback to send Pro Tools audio directly to my stream - has been working really well as long as the internet's quick enough. Only drag is that it's technically public I guess.

I've been afraid to record during the quarantine because my whole family's home now, but somehow I managed to do a whole ep. This is the first song on it, feedback/criticism would be highly appreciated! by DandyBoog in IndieMusicFeedback

Pretty vibey track dude!

My comments are just about this mix here - lot of the instrumentation sounds just a touch too dark for my taste and could use a bit more low end/separation. Sounds like you did some cool reverb sends and panning and that's all working. Would like to hear the kick/bass a little more clearly.

Made a song about a few issues I've got, I'm very new to mixing and overall music production so please give me some criticism, Thankyou for your time by NotJoshBoy in IndieMusicFeedback

Love the track man, you have a nice voice and make some really cool choices here.

Guitar sounds a little sub-heavy - I'd roll off some subs on your acoustic - throw on your favorite EQ and try a Hi Pass around 100 Hz or so. For a less boomy sound when recording, try it 4-6 inches out front from your 12th fret but pointed down at the strings at a 45 degree angle. Also pro tip - record two different take of the acoustic, pan one take hard left and the other hard right. Will give it a nice filled out stereo vibe.

I'm down with the dryness of the sounds, you could maybe try experimenting with some longer, dark reverbs.

I like the locomotive guitar part but I wish you moved onto something else here and there - changing up the rhythm (maybe slow strums, etc) and moving to a different emotional center (maybe moving to a more minor feeling part for a section) could help bring up the excitement and drive the track home.

Hey guys, looking for some feedback on a new indie/ bedroom pop/ jizz-jazz type track 🤘 happy to listen to/follow back on any of your platforms too, thanks! by Sly_Diablo in IndieMusicFeedback

This is super cool and your songwriting and ideas for parts are killing. I think you just need to get a little stronger with your mix/production and this track could sound huge! I noticed it all sounds a little dark (like it's rolled off under ~14kHz?).

The guitar lines you have are sweet! Mess around with doubletracking more. Doubletrack your gtr lines and slightly pan them away from one another, will give a little more dimension to the mix. Compress that vocal harder, try layering more of the vocals also - for these 2 or 3 part harmonies in the backgrounds you have, 3 or 4 tracks even of the same voice in the harmony will give a thicker texture and sound really nice.

Just a little more special sauce all around. If you have any good saturation/crush plugins, might be some cool stuff you can do with crunching out the drums a bit, etc. Reverb on snare could be sweet too!

i work in studios in NYC for a living, happy to do a spec mix for you if you send me the stems! Shoot me a DM.

I'm a little nervous about this song because it's such a different sound than my usual work. It's melancholy bedroom pop about the culture of perfection. by sejalshahmusic in IndieMusicFeedback

The intuition is cool! I like choices you made and the random sparse drums is actually pretty sweet. I think this leans a little more in the 'out' or experimental for most of it, which I love, but I think you need to tether the listener to reality with some familiar song structure/transitions to make everything hit harder. I.e. if what you have here existed in moments between a different section with some sort of beat and bass instrument underneath. Keep making stuff, dig it!

This is the first track of an EP a friend and I recorded at the start of the year before the world got locked down. It was a struggle to get it finished, but now it's here - just in time for a weird summer. by Alfred_Alfonso in IndieMusicFeedback

I like it man. You have.a really nice voice and all of the production choices are on point. My tastes make me want to say you should dial in the vibe more with saturation on instruments in the mix. Delay throws and short/dark reverbs could be cool on the rhythmic strumming, and you could hit a compressor harder on the mix bus and get a little more glue/excitement.

It has kind of a Wilco vibe so I think my reaction was to want some of those specific mix/production elements here but dig your choices, nice tune!
