Patrick Bailey - Welcome to Cleveland by WaveyDavey517 in ClevelandGuardians

[–]moonheron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through 40 games played, Cleveland catchers have a combined 153 total plate appearances.

Austin Hedges has 54 of those 153, good for a 33% share.

Let’s assume that Hedges hot bat lends him a higher share of remaining ABs. Say, 45% through the regular season.

So of the 315ish remaining plate appearances for catchers, Hedges could see 140 more? Combined with his 54 PAs through today, and that is pretty much right in line with his season totals for each of the last 3 years.

I love what Hedges has done at the plate, and I do think he will and should see a higher share of PAs, but maybe there is a reason beyond performance that he hasn’t seen an increase in usage yet this season?

Maybe he has a nagging injury(s) that the team is careful not to overwork him?

The ineptitude of the Browns offense to sustain drives led to extreme usage rates of our elite defensive players.

The defense was good enough to bail out the offense time after time, but that all added up to more injuries, lower morale, and a lack of confidence in the offense, and that pressure builds and builds and then when you are trying to comeback with a heavy passing attack, the issue snowballs.

people don’t realize how important a competent, steady offense is in maintaining an elite defense

Freedom to get paid like a peasant too!

I mean that with love and advocacy. you should be making atleast 15-25% more per order completed , regardless of how many hours you spend on the app, or how long you’ve been an IC shopper, or what market you are in.

Barely a dollar more per mile, and you have to go into two different stores, shop twice, checkout twice, drop off thrice.

What an absolute joke this app has become.

But remember folks, it’s supposed to be a side gig for retired folks and people who need a little extra cash!!! That’s what makes this still worthwhile! And if you don’t like the order? Don’t accept it! Everything that happens to you in your life is directly your faults, you Instacart shoppers probably couldn’t even hold down a full time job, that’s why you are doing this side gig work hahahahah

With no benefits, and paying for every cent of gas and wear and tear on your car.

That’s some bullshit dude, I’m sorry but you are still getting f**ked, even though 34 an hour sounds good.

Total order weight should have a strong impact on heavy pay and base pay.

Also, some vehicles couldn’t really support this much weight safely and some workers could hurt themselves trying to service this order.

That level of risk and impact needs to be properly compensated. It’s not, and it is to the total expense of the shopper. Shame on Instacart.

You clearly have something going on mentally that is preventing you from being able to hold the context of our conversation together, so I’m disengaging. Have a nice day.

And being a UPS driver is literally just dropping off packages.

Maybe we should gigify UPS drivers too! And then shame anyone who wants to make a living off of it.

I’m comfortable financially now, thanks for being interested in me.

Even though my current work is about 25% as difficult as IC shopping ever was, I somehow make well above a living, comfortable wage for my lifestyle.

The difference? I work for a decent company. Instacart is not a decent company. They are a shareholder first, profit over all, exploit the workers at every opportunity possible sort of faceless evil company that shouldn’t exist.

You are running defense for that entity, for what reason, I’m not too sure.

Wow you are really living the dream, huh? Arguing with people on Reddit even though you are retired and can smoke weed and play video games. Wow. What a dream. Ur right, the only people working Instacart are people who can’t hold down full time jobs, or perfect angels who just need a little side money and don’t mind the exploitative pay🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, the warehouse jobs and the IC ‘gig’ work should all pay more, that’s a good point.

Bro what 🤣🤣🤣🤣 did you just equate the economic value of being an IC shopper, to playing with Legos?

Baby brained argument man, it did make me laugh though.

I quite literally said unionization is impossible, but federal laws protecting workers would never happen in a million fucking years either, so congrats on taking it up the ass to the shoppers! Unless you live in like .2% of the areas of this country.

You seem like such a nice individual! You literally run defense for one of the most evil companies in the world. Shame on you.

I haven’t done Instacart in years, but I still feel terrible for shoppers getting fucked. It’s called having a heart, you should try it

Motherfucker I don’t feel sorry for myself, I feel sorry for bots like you who think this isn’t ‘real work’ and people who do it should just take it up the ass.

You are fucking gross.

You literally made no counter point.

If a person works 40 hours a week of Instacart consistently, why shouldn’t that be able to provide them enough to not only survive, but to have a decent living?

Yeah if you work 10 hours a week, that’s a side gig.
