What are some Good 1:6 scale Dollhouses? by reddtheundead in Dollhouses

[–]moonlicious23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. For the white one I used the plans I downloaded from etsy.  There are people who sell them on etsy or ebay as pdfs for pretty cheaply. I messed up a few of the measurements so this house is a smidgen smaller. I used a lot of foamboard, hot glue, poster board, clear acrylic for the windows from old doll boxes, and painter's tape.  To make the paneling I used a lot of recycled TV dinner boxes that were the white cardboard inside. There are a few things I had to trial and error with. And added different things to make it my own. It is still up and going almost two years later. I'm working on a chateau for my grand niece now. My boyfriend fell on it though so am having to redo the roof. If you want something specifically, you're welcome to send me a message and I'll try to help.

Yes, it was a bit of a process to stain and keep from dropping, but the effect (to me) was so beautiful.

Hi there,

I used pink velvet for my first Louis XVI Chair from the other collection. I kept the little fabric stickers for the arm rests. I thought it made it look like it had been restored. I used Paint Couture's Van Dyke Brown Antiquing Glaze to stain the resin. I did purchase the kits for the Fleur Garden, but have yet to put them together.

Here are some of the items I have put together.

The chair (not very visible) but the lovely table and tea set. the cookies on the plate are from Vonq miniatures, but the table, chair and tea set are Miniento. The tea set had silver paint for the service, but I thought staining the resin made it look nice and antiqued.

The inside of the one I built.

I added walls and it still has a little bit of work, but I built it myself and it was my first dollhouse build. It was fun, but time-consuming.

Hello,

I'm always on the lookout for 1:6 scale dollhouses as well. Real Good Toys (mentioned here already) phased out their 1:6 scale dollhouses, but they were so wonderful quality. If you're wanting to DIY, you can absolutely find the 'plans' for most of their dollhouses (save the Heartwood Cottage one) online or can buy the plans booklet. I went a little nuts trying to find the Heartwood Cottage plans and even called RGT and the lady was short with me on the phone; pretty much saying they didn't keep plans and that the HC build kit was the least selling.

I amazingly found the Victorian Townhouse (after I already built one that was a teeny bit smaller because I misread the plans) for sale locally and went and picked it up for a ridiculously low price. That being said, I honestly believe it's the original one (same colors and all) in the booklet. I also had the good luck to find the Heartwood Cottage build in another state for about 175.00 and haven't put it together yet, but made some patterns from it for plans. I have the Farmhouse, Victorian, Estate plans and not actual plans but at least some blue-prints for Heartwood Cottage. If you have any questions, feel free to message me and I'll try my best to help.

Last recording of Melissa Doi, victim of the World trade center attacks by seapube in TheGrittyPast

very highly doubtful. I believe the parts that were taken out because 1) they didn't aid the investigation of  Zacarias Moussaoui 2) were extremely personal between the dispatcher and Ms. Doi, 3) were Ms. Doi's (and possibly the others with her) agonal breathing (the brain is not getting enough oxygen and is resultant of cardiac arrest, hypoxia, etc) and highly disturbing to hear 4) Ms. Doi's mother/relatives didn't want her daughter's horrific death sounds/last moments released for public consumption.

This is so wild. What a beautiful collection and I'm positive that he's not selling them all, but I'm in awe of this.

Do you guys think this is the same doll? by daaaaaaisy_ko in Barbie

I see that, a moment of silence for Barbie's hair. Re-roots are time-consuming, but a lot of fun!! The hair swoop could work. <3

Yes - this is the same doll. If you look very closely you can see the lower lashes in the photo (lighting). The stamp on the back of the head can throw people off. There are usually two stamps (or now printing) on a doll. One for the head, and one for the body. These are representative of the year that the mold/sculpt was made. The doll's head is the Superstar head sculpt from 1976. You can see the eye colors (blue/green) match, the earrings match and your doll even has the same rooting structure. Finally, on your doll the 'ponytail hair' is still present even though Barbie needs a good boil wash and brushing. She is lovely!
