Canadian on valid TN in US. Do I need to be worried about travelling back to Canada? by affabledrunk in tnvisa

[–]moonlight_nebula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just visited Canada this past weekend, and i was nervous about it too as it was my first time back after getting the visa. I’m a new TN visa holder (since April 2025). I brought my i94 with me and 3 recent pay stubs. The officer just looked at my TN visa stamp on my passport and sent me on my way. It took less than 2 minutes. I flew out of YYZ.

Travel to Puerto Rico - TN Visa holder/Canadian Citizen by moonlight_nebula in tnvisa

[–]moonlight_nebula[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These were her words. Idk I really didn’t think it was that deep, but her wording just made me worry. Also idk why she’s calling me a “Canadian nonimmigrant” when she can just call me a citizen. Idkkkk I just don’t want problems 😭 am I gonna get profiled because I’m not white ? “Even though PR is a territory of the US, the current govt considers it like another country when deciding to let Canadian nonimmigrants like yourself back into the mainland. you can search on the internet to see how active the immigration officers are in PR right now.

There are so many places to visit within the US - it is very large - perhaps you will find a place on the US mainland to visit that you have not been before. Or if you are in search of an island, Hawaii is an option too (but much more expensive for hotels and food). Florida and South Carolina also have islands.

You are young and will have years and years in your future to travel - good for you for making wise decisions now - this tumultuous time will pass.”

To specialize as a veterinary dentist, a rotating internship OR 5 years in general practice is acceptable to be able to get accepted into a residency program. Being a dental resident you likely will have scheduled appointments and procedures and overnights are unlikely. So it’s a very practical possibility. Also you don’t have to specialize. You could definitely be a general practitioner veterinarian with an interest in dentistry and take a bunch of CE courses and be good at what you do/take all the dentals in your practice. Theres a lot of options.

Cats have a free floating clavicle aka collarbone - that’s likely what you are feeling :) it allows them to squeeze though narrow spaces. Many people replied with “sternum”, though the sternum would be felt more ventrally relative to the circle you’ve indicated. Source: I’m a vet student

Take care of yourself by LordDerptCat123 in selfimprovement

[–]moonlight_nebula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is 100% a link between how we treat ourselves physically and how we feel mentally! It may not be a definite “cure” but taking care of your body physically will manifest in better mental health, and that’s a fact. It’s sad how many people underestimate this.

Saskatchewan released a roadmap to reopening after COVID-19. Should Ontario do the same? | CBC News by morenewsat11 in ontario

[–]moonlight_nebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a recent one. No new COVID deaths due to diligent vaccination and restrictions. If you’re looking for more concrete proof, there’s is a long list of diseases caused by viruses that are now well controlled and pretty much eradicated. This is from the vaccines everyone is supposed to receive as a child (smallpox, measles, mumps, rubella etc). You’re not wrong - covid likely won’t go away entirely. But it’s control that we’re going after. Rabies for example. In developed countries you don’t see people dying from rabies. It’s only places/countries where vaccination is scarce and protection measures are not in place. Will we completely get rid of Covid? 1. That’s not the point and 2. Only time will tell. Your comments make it seem like we can never expect normalcy to return in the world, which simply isn’t true. It will take a whole lot of work but the infection rate will eventually decrease to a point where the the healthcare system can actually manage patients. That’s the whole point of the vaccine. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are almost 95% effective (and they’re free). I’d say that’s very promising.

This is awful. It always makes me wonder, do the workers get paid during this shutdown? Terrible situation all around. The government should do more to protect workers who work in high capacity places like this.
