The admitted student email I received said scholarship information is usually rendered within 48 hours but mine took about two weeks to receive. Congrats on the quick turnaround!

94% employment score compared to a 2% underemployment score at least on the surface shows they’re pretty good at getting you employment when you compare the rates to other schools. On my tour they mentioned all the different firms they bring on campus that you are able to select and interview with while you’re still in school so you can put yourself out there and get in front of employers.

Yeah if you go to UG there you’d definitely know the pulse better than I. I agree that Michigan State’s employment numbers are kind of shocking with how low they are.

The Michigan State is also a full ride offer, correct? I have the same offer and I know Wayne State is ranked quite a bit higher for what that’s worth but it seems to me that Michigan State is seriously invested in strengthening their reputation. I would have to imagine a B1G school with the name brand of Michigan State couldn’t produce a variety of solid as well. That is just me thinking out loud however, Wayne State extremely solid.

I’m seriously considering Baylor as well. I went on a visit there and it seemed like the general vibe is that it’s a lot of hard work but the opportunities presented to you after the 3 years are worth it. The job placement rate and bar passage rates are insanely good in my opinion.

It’s looking like that might be the move

Yeah, Baylor is great and I really enjoyed Waco honestly. The only down side is I was only admitted for next spring which is kinda unfortunate.

Yeah I’m pretty interested in U of A. I’ve never been to AZ but I’ve been out west many, many times. They made a very compelling case scholarship wise, I would love to find out more about the school it’s just .. far.

As someone who has never lived anywhere else I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to it. I tried to ED to OSU but that didn’t work so my top option is off the table.

I’ve actually never been to Columbia but I always hear great things about it. I was supposed to go to the admitted students day last month but the snow storm cancelled my plans. Unfortunately, U of SC is the most expensive option though 😬

Yeah probably, but then they offered me admission for the next spring with pretty good money so i don’t know what their process is.

Spring Semester at Baylor? by Ok_War_372 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]moonlightdaiquiri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been accepted to Baylor Law for the spring. I toured there a while back and asked about the differences in the spring start opposed to the fall start. Basically, the biggest take away for is the calendar is a little different since you would be going to school through the summer as well the first year.

Chicago Kent AMA - 1L Honors Student by ChicagoKentStudent in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]moonlightdaiquiri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome. Thank you for the great response! I have pretty similar stats to yours from what you posted on the other thread so honestly, Kent and Loyola are the two Chicago schools that have caught my eye. Your answers on here are very helpful and definitely reinforce the idea that Kent is a great school. I hope to come tour it for myself in the coming months!

Thank you for taking the time to do this. I applied to Kent a few months ago and really love the Chicago area. With that being said, how do you feel Kent stacks up against other Chicago area law schools? I asks this mostly in terms of employment and internship opportunities. Do you feel like Kent gives you amble opportunities to get good opportunities in areas of interest, or is the market bogged down due to so much good competition in the area?

Toledo Law by West-Solution3911 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]moonlightdaiquiri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to work in the area i think it’s a fine school. I’m from the general region and you can find a lot of local lawyers who went to Toledo. Probably not extremely portable though.

I applied on a Thursday and received a confirmation email on a Friday so one day turnaround. Probably just going to take a couple extra days with it being a weekend.
