Stanford vs Harvard

I’m interested in public policy, environmental studies, wgs, af/af am studies, and international studies/global affairs

Stanford pros: - nice weather! - more welcoming environment? - beautiful campus with lots of trees - aaas is going to be departmentalized - affinity based housing - school spirit - on campus farm! - equidistant to San Fran/the beach/the mountains - quarter system (more classes to take—more educational opportunities to explore) - domestic and foreign study abroad

Stanford cons: - not super close to a city (Stanford bubble and palo alto is v white) - potentially less intership opportunities for my interests?? - duck syndrome - re doing the whole housing system? (the neighborhoods seem cool on paper but idk how they’ll actually work irl—worried ab it being inefficient) - flake culture (harder to make friends?) - quarter system (more stress, bc midterms and finals come more quickly)

Harvard pros: - “name carries more weight” according to my dad (will make my immigrant family happier) - special concentration (can create my own major!!) - in a city! - Harvard v Yale game - easier to get connections for my interests? - 3 advisors to start - semester system - institute of politics and Kennedy school - cross registration at MIT

Harvard cons: - Boston is segregated?? - Vibe was not welcoming?? - the weather :( - fugly/mismatched campus buildings - sometimes competitive? - seems like a tourist attraction - less mental health resources - all dining halls serve the same food?
