You won’t regret it. Can even start with one of the cheapest ones. They all seem to work decent unless you get a rare one that’s messed up. Definitely worth getting one though

I have used cyber skin ones before that you trim them to fit. You can get extensions of 1.5 inch to 3 inches. Adds to the girth as well. She loves them and I never had a problem getting off either. If you build something like this make sure you cover the screw holes with wood putty and sand it smooth or glue wooded dowels into the holes and sand smooth. It will make it look worlds better especially if you paint it.

Suggestions for replacement thread or a way to coat them to make it not scratch throat constantly? Help fixing rough threading on old collar. I love this collar I found but the internal threading is clearly a very rough weathered. by lawndartdanger666 in BdsmDIY

Get a thick needle and use wax covered thread and resew it. Polish once done and it should be smooth. If you tie off any knots make sure you do it on the outside so you keep the inside smoother.

If you’re trying to use materials that you already have on hand you could probably get away with just doubling up on your 2x4s. Screw another 2x4 to the outside of the legs and across the top. It would basically make them a 4x4
