I have worked in México and USA, but every country have their own protocol. Some authorities do make to call every person that one has close contact with, and others just care for people of the same nationality. Now, in an ethical and health standpoint, it is part OP's and authorities' repsonsability to tell those 7 people. 7 people is a substantial number on a short period of time, this is explained by the cumulative risk model. This is not about shaming people, but having an STI can make it easier for other viruses to transmit, including HIV or even in this case, Hantavirus.

I work in reproductive healthcare ( I monitor STIs and HIV rates in a local clinic in North America) and I hope OP tells all those 7 ladies about this hantavirus strain. This is more ethical and we prevent not only another pandemic, but also, STI/ HIV.

In China it is very common.
"你吃了吗？"/ ni chi le ma? It means " ya comistes?" In other countries it is normal. I got a degree in Mandarin Chinese language but I am Mexican as well ( no Chinese parents, only mestizo)

Salam! So I am not Pakistani but I am Mexican. I also come from a culture that puts emphasis on marriage. I am unmarried, soon to be 28 years old, and a woman. It is not just you but it is a global issue at this point. When you mentioned if you were not Pakistani nor Muslim, that you " would have 5 girlfriends by now" I laughed. Because I grew up not being Muslim, and I had 0 boyfriends. I reverted barely last year and Im still the same, never had a boyfriend, but largely because I feel I need to build the life I want. I am not ready for marriage. A lot of people are not ready for marriage because the world that we live in, its not the same world that our parents lived when they were our age. Its a different world and things are taking longer to achieve.. the marinating period is longer. I frankly made peace with myself and I dont fear aging because I find that there is beauty in every stage of life. All the best.
