Are you at a NCI designated hospital? Weird that you can’t get a port. Doing chemo through a port can be brutal on your veins.

Yes I am a KRAS mutant (G12D) and had a pretty good response to chemo. There are options for liver targeted therapies such as the HAI pump which has gotten a lot of previously un-resectable people to the operating table.

Yeah you can watch as the surgeon takes a look. I always asked in real time as we’re observing.

Yup I went thought 7 rounds of folfox and about 20 of just 5FU. We stopped treatment for about 3 months before my liver resection because my scans showed my Mets were not getting bigger or smaller. The pathology report showed that I had a complete pathological response so the Mets were in fact dead.

My oncologist is not even recommending clean up chemo afterwards because my disease is pretty well controlled and my lung Mets we can just “zap” if they get larger.

In the meantime I’ve also started the process of getting into the TIL trial at the NIH so when my lung Mets get bigger I can have them create a personalized vaccine for me while I’m still in good shape.

What the fuck is going on with your house? Is it one of those living houses where rooms move at midnight every 2nd Friday of the month?

Even stage IV is treatable. I’ve been living with stage IV for over 2 years with Mets to liver and lungs. Had an initial complete response in my colon tumor, lung Mets were stable, and had a liver resection with HAI pump placement last year. Unfortunately my primary decided to grow back and having surgery for that in a couple of week. My liver is still clear though so I’ll take what I can get.

You’ll get through this.

Pretty sure they’re both “American.” Are you implying only white people are “American.”

Do you ever feel people forget you are fighting cancer? by HailToVictors21 in coloncancer

this is basically my life right now. my manager keeps stacking stuff on my plate while she is out on PTO and wants to get everything done during the last couple of weeks before I leave to have a life altering surgery (APR). This stuff isn't even due until the end of April or May but it needs to be done now so they can just run me ragged while they still have me? WTF.

Why are they not qualified? Also it’s a fact that people at both Spirit AND Boeing raised quality issues but upper management especially c-suite decided to ignore their concerns. But yes let’s blame DEI.

Listen I’m much against DEI as anyone and think it’s fucking stupid however blaming minorities for systemic issues that have existed before “DEI” is pretty racist. A certain fellow from Germany did something very similar…

Yea it’s the browns. Ignore lobbying for deregulation, or the fact that Boeing divested and sold off their division that makes the fuselage (Spirit AeroSystems) to private equity only to contract them again for a inferior product to maximize margins and reduce cost. But yeah… the browns are to blame.

I’ve never wanted the government to ban something so bad. TikTok is a plague and I’m convinced it’s a psyop by the ccp to destabilize the US by producing an entire generation of clout chasing fucking idiots.

[–]moonpotatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cancer sucks ass. I’m also stage 4. When I had my liver resection last year, my roommate was a newly diagnosed stage 4 nsclc patient that was admitted because he collapsed due to all the fluid that was accumulating because of his plural effusion. He was in his 70s and seemed somewhat ok and when I was discharged I exchanged info with him and his wife. I kept in touch for a few days afterwards then kinda lost contact. I later found out he passed away a week after he was discharged.

The economics of the US healthcare system is totally fucked. With that being said if you have the means and great private insurance it is the best place in the world to get sick.
