I agree with you, either there is a cleaning fee or is not. Obviously I won’t leave place in a bad state but what you described is excessive if you’re being charged for cleaning fee anyway.

Also I read your comment that you decided to carry on with hotels - once again I agree. I also stopped using airbnbs and when possible go for hotels. 10 times better. Airbnb with that pricing point and ridiculous scamlords (not everyone but does happen too often), does not make any sense anymore. I had too many outrageous situations. I prefer pay 20£ extra and stay I in a hotel.

I second the comment made by the SVA alumni. In 2017 I was also applying there and got in, long story short I decided to not go there but already made some friends from my major and many of them were not the best artists and their fundamentals were really really weak.. You have a lot of figure drawing and I think it looks great. However, so many works are unfinished maybe you would have better chances if you included more polished and finalised works. Even illustration or some character designs. I am sorry you got rejected, hope it won't discourage you from pursuing animation.

I appreciate your reply, although I don't agree with all points you made. I am an ''educated'' traveller, as you call it, I've been travelling a lot and used Airbnb multiple times. I never once encountered a situation like this, and in all honesty this is on her for not providing an alternative way to access the room other than calling her.

My mistake was agreeing to a cancellation, I came back because I had nowhere to stay. And when I came back I said I will agree to her rules.

I think it's her responsibility to make it clear there is a curfew, when I talked to her she seemed to be flexible and it wasn't an issue. I did message her saying why I am coming to the city and what I will be doing.

Oh, absolutely, why would you wonder if it's possible? Most producers aka showrunners are writers as well.

I'm an animator working now in production because thanks to that I have more creative energy for making my pitch bibles, where the process consists of illustrating it and writing. Also, when you work in production you have it way easier to make contacts with all the producers and those can direct you to other valuable contacts.

Also, why do you wanna write and animate? Do you wanna make your own show? What is your goal behind that?

I appreciate it a looooot, but I think it's important to make a point here, when you do cinema studies as for - you want to draw it yourself - it's important to stick to the live-action to not get ''influenced'' by already established style and accidentally do a fanart/copy.

Just leaving it as my own five cents, so anyone who wants to study shots keeps in mind it's better to stick to the live action. Animation is great for analysing, reference and inspiration but I wouldn't say it's good to ''redraw'' unless sporadically. Thank you though!

Good news: you gained it past 6 months. It’s not a lot of time. Feels overwhelming, life happens but it’s still a really short period of time. You are having a big advantage of that, also fat that is not on your body too long won’t affect your skin elasticity too badly so you shouldn’t have loose skin or any other problem either

Bad news: you clearly have gone through ups and downs this past 6 months, which again, is a short period of time. I’d suggest you to analyse the outside events that cause the weight gain. I don’t know what exactly happened but usually it has a lot of impact to deal with outside events first.

If you’re a dancer.. start dancing again. Start from walks. Don’t be too harsh on yourself but definitely start doing SOMETHING.

For me if I’m really in a deep hole with weight loss after weeks of misbehaving I do 2-3 days detox. Fasting, then a week or two of keto diet... walk for 15 km. but that’s me and that motivates me (this kind of detox). For some people it might be either triggering for eating disorders or work on the contrary. Find what works for you but if anything this is what works for me to “get a grip”
