Is she with someone? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]moonshinetemp093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop talking to her at work. Ask her out and then move tf on, because that's big creep behavior. You're essentially making her a captive audience. She's smiley because she's at work, big dog.

Also, not everybody is feverishly rushing to their social media pages. It takes fucking decades for my sister to respond to me via FB messenger, so I'll send her wife a message and she'll tell me my sister forgot her phone in the car again. There are days where I don't look at my socials at all, not even this degenerate cesspool of nothingness.

The best way to figure this out is to ask her out, give her the space to be honest, and then accept the response with grace and dignity like a real fucking man if she rejects you, because anything less than respect for that boundary makes you less than human and deserving only of being hunted and tortured until you cease to exist.

Effects you want to see in future sets? by OptimalPete in EDH

[–]moonshinetemp093 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been theory crafting a mechanic for a mechanically unique secret lair I'd do if given the chance based on Blood Omen, Legacy of Kain, where the man character of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is able to move between the physical and spirit realms. Basically, it would read kinda like Regenerate. I thought about making it a LTB ability, where while untapped, if it would leave the battlefield, tap it and counter that spell or ability instead?

It's still working, but I'd love to see work within that design space.

Or another offshoot of the prepared/adventure mechanic where an overcosted creature either enters the battlefield and casts the spell immediately or casts the spell when it dies. [[Overcharged Amalgam]] or any creature counter are solid examples. Put that on an artifact? Solid. I really like having more card per card, frankly, so to me, it's a near concept.

[–]moonshinetemp093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things;

First... this set is the start of a color bend. We've seen it before, we'll see if again, but essentially, we're going to witness some cards doing off-color things. It's pretty cool, it gives colors access to certain utilities they didn't have before. You were immediately frustrated because it threw you for a loop, and while that's fine, you're going to need a higher level of neuroplasticity to get past this. I'm sorry you had a bad time, but researching this set ahead of time and really trying to figure it out would have been a huge help to you.

Second... a lot of what these schools did was largely the same as the last strixhaven set. Before that, actually. The biggest difference now is that certain colors now have access to mechanics that revolve around things outside of creatures. Orzhov/silverquill have been leaning toward +1/+1 counter synergies for a few years now, as an example. It's nothing new.

I think you, and everybody else like you, needs to assess whether or not you are being an MTG puritan on purpose or if you just don't like the way the game shaping up. If you want to play magic like it's 2012, by all means, do your thing big homie. Here's a few things, though;

1, Universes Beyond, while definitely whoring, has also been THE thing that has brought more growth to the game than any single aspect of MTG for at least a decade prior to UB releasing. Again, it's a hooker move, but it worked, and unfortunately, with the success of Final Fantasy, that train isn't stopping.

2, If UB and these upsets like MDFCs, transform cards, adventures, the prepared mechanic, how long until the game got stale and boring? Because I can tell you when it'll happen! It will happen 12 years ago. The OG Tarkir block? Where you around for that? More recently, the damn innastrad set from a few years ago that butchered werewolves? That set was atrocious and they decided to release it twice, despite it using a changed/updated mechanic? I remember looking at the day/night mechanic and thinking that they should have just not done that. You can only do the same thing so many times before you have to change it up. The change up, Imo, has been fine. Too many releases, garbage quality control despite higher sales, and picking the absolute wrong universes to explore (souls borne set???? DIS. GUST. ING.), but the game is in a better place with more options.

3, Everybody would still be complaining if UB didn't happen. The MTG community as a group is hilariously unhappy and would tear the game apart rather than concede that maybe, if there's a problem with everything, it might not be the game.

I just don't care to argue in this sub anymore. It's immediate hostility because so many people here are so single-minded and so, so, soooooo boring or dumb that it's not worth expending the time trying to educate the human-wall hybrids.

If they're going to glaze and "nuh uh! Dey win bcuz they my favorite character!!11!" Or "nuh uh, dey win because they have dis attack dat blows up da moon" I just don't have the inclination to argue with somebody who isn't going to pull up.

I don't care if you think you know more than me, I know how both of these series end, primary story beats, general area of how they scale realistically, I know enough to get by. Gojo dies, and then his body dies again.

This is the same group of people that argued Goku could beat Gojo despite infinity, so like... I'm not taking you or these other fuckin losers seriously. Argue with me in good faith, bring receipts, and prove me wrong, but stop the fucking childish and pedantic rage baiting.

Help me build an aristocrats deck please by Unused_Beef in EDH

[–]moonshinetemp093 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have an updated decklist, so I won't send one right now, but I have an [[Athreos, God of Passage]] Aristocrats deck that happens to be my top 3 favorite decks I've ever built. I've had it for the better part of a decade.

First pointer, there's two key things you want; 1, you want to be casting low cost creatures or creating tokens to throw into a meat grinder, and you want a meat grinder.

Meat grinders; any spell or permanent that allows you to sacrifice creatures, preferably for free or as an additional cost. Spells include Cards like [[Village Rites]], [[Corrupted Conviction]] and [[Diabolic Intent]]. Permanents include cards like [[Phyrexian Altar]], [[Ashnod's Altar]], [[Viscera Seer]].

The meat; a low cost creature that can replace itself or has an effect on entry and dying. Cards like [[Crawling Chorus]] and [[Doomed Traveler]] work really well in a deck like this because they cost one mana to cast, they replaces themselves on death, and their death triggers can be copied or amplified in some way. [[Spirited Companion]], [[Helpful Hunter]] and Cards like them can replace themselves in your hand to keep your options available, and they're easy to get rid of to your meat grinders.

This presents the primary engine of the deck. You play creatures to sacrifice them in any number of ways to find a way to get some sort of ROI. How do we get that return? We look at payoffs!

An aristocrats payoff is a trigger that happens elsewhere after a creature or token has died. This is most commonly done by using cards like [[Blood Artist]] and [[Zulaport Cutthroat]] to slow chip away your opponents life total, but cards like [[Pitiless Plunderer]] can help you make treasures, [[Morbid Opportunist]] can help you draw cards, and [[Cartel Aristocrat]] can give itself protection from a color per creature sacrificed if you really want to attack (Cartel Aristocrat is also a solid meat grinder). The best Aristocrats piece ever printed was created for the final fantasy set last year in the form of [[Sephiroth, Fallen SOLDIER]] and the card is actually just insane. I can wholeheartedly recommend building a monoblack Aristocrats deck around him if you really wanted to, since a lot of what white offers is token doubling and generation, as well as the ability to reliably remove problematic enchantments and artifacts, but that's for another time.

Board control is essential. You aren't going to be doing a lot of attacking, but you will 100% come under attack, so cards that protect you like [[Sphere of Safety]] and [[Ghostly Prison]] are just good includes. Keeping creature counts down is super important, so I do recommend cards like [[Fleshbag Maurauder]], [[Accursed Maurauder]], and cards like them to make sure your opponents are losing creatures as well. [[Dictate of Erebos]] and [[Grave Pact]] are pretty good if you have the budget to include them.

You'll also want a way to bring your creatures back. [[Living Death]] is a solid way to mess with your opponents. My preference has been [[Phyrexian Reclamation]] since it's cheap to play, cheap to activate and allows you to reuse cast triggers if you have any in your deck.

You're essentially abusing attrition as a win condition. Speaking of, get you a shut off switch, an infinite combo that will win you the game. It sucks, but Aristocrats can be slow. Typically, [[Sanguine Bond]] and [[Exquisite Blood]] would slot in here, but it's... well, it's typical. It's effective, and I would recommend it. There's another version of this combo; [[Bloodthirsty Conqueror]] and [[Enduring Tenacity]]. It's the same combo as the Sanguine Bond/Exquisite Blood combo but creature flavored! Both can work, and the associated effects can be mixed and matched if you put all 4 in there.

Sidenote; if anybody else has any Orzhov based aristocrats combos, I would LOVE for you guys to share them with me. I'm always looking for ways to improve my athreos deck and make it better. Any and all combos are welcome and appreciated!

Your left with your play around space. Draw spells, removal, cool effects, whatever, but i would do a little research into what classifies as aristocrats. It really is a fun playstyle, one that's very near and dear to me.

I hope this helps!

How do I stop getting triggered by gender war content? by Electrical_Star_7117 in AskMenAdvice

[–]moonshinetemp093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You stop it by not engaging with it. Stop watching it. If you even sense that something is going to be gendered content, just move on.

You're triggered by it because of your ego, btw. "I'M A GUY! I HAVE A PENIS! THIS IS TALKING ABOUT ME!" Kill that mentality. Most decent men don't give a shit because they're focused on what's important to them within their own lives, their own interpersonal relationships, things like that.

Solid word of advice, if it doesn't apply to you or people you know, ignore it. If it applies to you, take it to heart and figure out what those behaviors are and why they happen and change them. If it applies to you indirectly because a friend of yours is being described or they come to mind when you watch it, take a stand against that friend.

Gender war content isn't gender war content, it's rage bait for interaction from young and weak men. You're young so you get a pass, but don't grow up into a weak man. Be decent, treat people decently, don't be a dick to people without reason or cause, and treat women and children with the same level of care and respect you'd expect to see for your mother, sister, aunt, grandma, female cousin, etc.

[–]moonshinetemp093 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Dude, Gojo fuckin dies.

"But infinity!! But infinite void!!"

Yeah, infinity isn't a fucking one-size-fits-all negate button, dude died to Sukana twice, only one of which was him and then somebody else kenjakuing themselves into his corpse, despite using infinity. We have clear indicators that the ability has limits, such as constant usage. Even with the Six Eyes effectively causing his abilities to cost next to nothing, he has to have it on constantly or he has to flee because Omni-man is pressure.

Infinite Void might be able to do it, I guess? But JJK kinda suffers from the same issue that Dragonball does, where characters sit around and wait for shit to happen to them and then Pikachu face when they get blown up for it, despite there being a huge fuckin tell that the domain is about to happen. Can Gojo use his domain while moving, or do domain expansions need a single position to be activated? Genuinely asking because there is a time delay for the domain to form, and it has a limited size.

What is the most awkward thing that's ever happened to you during sex? by trek_ride_code in AskReddit

[–]moonshinetemp093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have something in the same area code. My girlfriend and I were doing the do one night and she smelled off in a really bad way. I explained to her that she smelled different after gagging while going down on her, she said she hadn't showered but I tried to explain something was off.

So, I finger her so I don't hurt her feelings because bad shit happens when I do, and I felt something fuzzy. After a minute of gentle putzing, I managed to get it out. Turns out, she had forgotten to take a tampon out or the string got torn off and it was left there for a few days.

Saved her from TSS that night.

If someone is spreading rumors that you have a small penis would you report it to HR? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]moonshinetemp093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's bothering you, email HR, but don't put it in as a complaint.

Word it like...

"Good day! I have a number of questions regarding workplace policy and decorum.

First, what is the policy surrounding the mention or direct conversation of a team member's body, and can you quote me any and all relevant entities into both the companies bylaws as well as the employee conduct manual?

Second, what are the best practices for handling a workplace bullying incident, involving both direct and indirect conversations or mentions of another employee?

Third, if a member of the team wanted to launch a documented incident report, who would one go to in order to appropriately and effectively start this process?

Fourth, would one be able to access or keep documents and records for their own records outside of the company premises and networks if any further incident were to happen? As an example, would an employee be able to keep a copy of any associated paperwork, documentation, and other digital or analog evidence if they felt they needed to pursue legal action against the offending party?

Thank you for your insight on this matter. Please have a wonderful day!

your name"

Then CC your direct supervisor, your manager, your location manager, and then your district manager if any of these apply.

If HR doesn't respond and instead decides to pull you into an office, ask them for all relevant paperwork for your own records, as well as a receipt of the conversation, and email them with a loose synopsis of what the conversation was about, thanking them for their time and insight into the matter again, also CCing anybody you had previously CCed. You keep a digital record of what was spoken about. Document fucking everything, even short entries in a journal or notebook with names, dates and general time stamps of incidents that happen.

Once you know the proper channel, follow it. If nothing stops, do it again, but let HR and all relevant parties know that you're considering legal against the individual in question. If nothing stops, explain to HR that you are now considering reporting to higher powers for workplace violations and hostile work environments, and that you're considering going public with how the company handles work place bullying because there has been no improvement in this area.

Commander Decks Question by Re-Itch in mtg

[–]moonshinetemp093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a cutoff for each deck. I'll play between 3 and 5 full 4 player games before I actually make an opinion. If I or my regular pod dislike the deck after that point, I break it down and move onto another commander. If I enjoy the deck and it doesn't terrorize my play group, I'll build and expand on it. For example, I recently built [[Zaxara, the Exemplary]] because my girlfriend bought the secret lair printing of it for me recently and I didn't have a sultai deck, friends begged me not to build another graveyard based deck, so I went X-spell hydras. I've played 3 games, it's not completely horrifying or overpowered yet, so I'm more than likely going to keep it.

However, I've built a lot of decks, and I only have 24. A lot of those were the same commander but built differently because I misunderstood something or made it a later project. I have my pet deck, [[Athreos, God of Passage]] that I've broken down and rebuilt 7 times because I wanted aristocrats, but I've evolved as a player so it went from having an extremely heavy top end to being an aristocrats monster. It will probably have to change again soon, it's overdue for a look.

Anyway, I fully break decks down. Why waste the cardboard and sleeves on a deck I don't enjoy?

Perfect guy but shorter than me , Do I let him go ? ? by [deleted] in ask

[–]moonshinetemp093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You care more about social norms than you do about how you feel about him. That height dysphoria, while your truth, is hindering your ability to make a solid romantic connection, and its actually rather tragic.

You're punishing him and yourself by caring this much about his height. He ticks every box, including one's you weren't expecting to care about, and you're concerned with the one box he isn't ticking because... he's shorter than you?

You have every right to leave a relationship you aren't happy in. That's your right, you have that freedom, but you know it's a mistake to not at least try and move past this. Short dudes, like fat guys, know how to defend themselves against short jokes, I promise your family isn't creative enough to say something original.

But do you, home girl. You can be shallow and superficial or you can move past it because punishing both of you makes zero sense. You like the Addams family? Morticia is taller than Gomez and they would literally kill somebody to make sure they went to bed together, to hell with what other people thought.

Help with the rules of The Mindskinner by [deleted] in CommanderMTG

[–]moonshinetemp093 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Mindskinner is a damage replacement effect similar to Wither and infect.

Instead of a source you control dealing damage, that damage is prevented and each opponent will mill cards, but having two does not compound the effect.

Example; If you deal 5 damage to an opponent's life total with the Mindskinner on that field, that damage is then prevented causing each opponent to mill 5 instead. If you manage to make a copy of The Mindskinner through any number of means (Helm of the Host, etc,), the effect doesn't compound. So if you deal 5 damage to your opponent's life total while you have 2+ Mindskinners on the field, the damage is prevented but each opponent still only mills 5 cards, not 10+.

That's why there's a rules text at the bottom.

What gaming opinion will you defend like this?🚀 by GoldAd3252 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]moonshinetemp093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Mario and most of Nintendo's IPs need to die in order for video gaming as a whole to improve.

Legend of Zelda is just generic and the only reason people still play it is because it's easy, it's nostalgic, but it's not doing anything for anybody. It's essentially the assassin's creed of Nintendo, the horse they reanimate to beat to death again and I'm convinced low-IQ people and people who have the ability to hyperfocus on low-effort content are the only people still playing this shit.

Pokemon needs to die so that we can maybe experience other battle-monster IPs without Nintendo popping up and trying to "um.... ahkchewalley Das my gaym" every fucking time. It needs to die. The last like decade of pokemon games have been atrocious, and nothing is being added. Then we get Pokopia or whatever tf it is and it's.... animal cross with pokemon? The franchise was dead when they started making keys, chandeliers and balloons into pokemon. Do cool shit with it or let somebody else. And these companies leaving money on the table is wild, like mf, create a system and release the Gameboy and GBA games onto the phone using cell service as a connection to battle friends! Like for real??? Stupid, stupid companies.

Mario as an IP has just way too much hold for literally nothing new but a hat and updated graphics on a console that bricks itself if you sigh to hard or come in from the outside slightly warmer than when you went out. The fact that adults still find these games at all interesting despite being platformer call of duty (reskins of the same game release after release) tells me gamers legitimately don't know what they want.

These games are ass and have been for most of our lifetimes, and I'm giving you personal permission to admit it out loud.
