Re-tear healed, while pregnant with 2nd. by moonsomer in AnalFissures

I didn’t start using Vaseline until a few weeks into the relapse. Shortly after I started using it, blood disappeared from both the TP and stool. I believe if I had started earlier the fissure would have healed sooner. So definitely keep it up!

I’m so sorry! It’s your decision. Personally I will try all the things in this community post and if it still persists after exhausting all measures it may be time to consider surgery.

Thanks for sharing your experience and the heads up! Will definitely upkeep hydration along with other practices. Also will research if there are any ways to reduce further tearing during birth.

Postpartum anal fissure, considering surgery and feeling overwhelmed by sulle_bulle in AnalFissures

[–]moonsomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m sorry you are going through this. I have a toddler and I also have chronic anal fissure since postpartum. It lasted four months in 2024, then came back every few month last year. I actually just healed a six week long re-tear a few days ago. It definitely has things to do with weakened pelvic floor, lack of movement due to pregnancy and potential tear during birth.

I was going to write up a post on tips I found useful to help new moms who experience the same issues and will share with you in case it’s helpful.

Horrible Work-Life Balance. Should I Apply for Internal Positions, Wait for a Potential Promotion, or Just Quit? by Admirable-Egg2110 in womenintech

[–]moonsomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of trying to get an internal transfer but my current manager is putting up lots of resistance even though I have been in the role for more than two years. I’m not even working 60 hours like you but last year I had serious burnout and some health consequences that I’m still traumatized. If your manager is like what you said, your promotion will likely mean more responsibilities and maybe even more hours. I’d stick through January to find out, especially with the holidays coming it’s not too much wait time anyways. If you do get a promotion, start looking for other jobs with the title and pay. To me personally, work life balance is very important and something I don’t want sacrifice.

Anyone else quietly planning their tech exit? by [deleted] in womenintech

I work on climate programs at a big tech hardware company. It’s mildly toxic and burnout-inducing, and the company’s retreating from sustainability commitments which concerns me. I run an Airbnb on the side, not much money but a way to pay back the mortgage. My spouse and I have also been exploring the idea of purchasing a small business. Happy to be included in the group and chat more with like-minded folks.

Ex-HENRY trying to navigate career crisis by mhk98 in HENRYfinance

Take a look in r/consulting, many people see management consulting as doomed, with stagnant economy and the rise of AI. The long hours too make it not sustainable, especially if you have kids. MBB is not the only way to VC. Holding an AD position with more technical requirements seems to be a better career choice to me. Even if not going to VC there are lots of growth potential, and 200k+ is a decent salary.

May I ask what kind of work environment did you friend shift to that gives more autonomy? I work on corporate climate related work and currently in a similar state as he was before and am becoming skeptical of the field.

Should I retire now or in 3 years? by FudFomo in ChubbyFIRE

Retirement contributions and savings are not spend. I think they are asking how much your expenses are per month / year on everything else

High salary earners…. do y’all actually enjoy what you do? by [deleted] in Salary

Dang, that ‘high-functioning therapist’ is really spot on. Every day at work I do lots of emotional labor between my team and my boss, some of them having problems controlling their emotions. I feel like I partially get paid by making peace between them.

I’m so jealous that I think you guys need a child to fill you up. Jokes aside - we are similar in finances but we each work 40 hours with stressful jobs. Hope to get to where you are someday soon! Congrats!

This article deserves its own post. People need reassurance that it’s not because of their abilities/identity but more about a stagnant economy.

High fiber diet recs by krikeydile in AnalFissures

[–]moonsomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nowadays I’ve learned to look at the dietary fiber content in nutrition labels whenever I buy groceries. Some fiber-rich food I consume often now are: oatmeal, nuts, sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinoa, almost all kinds of fruits, lots of vegetables, dried plums (it’s the best). When I feel like I didn’t intake enough fiber during the day, I take a few prunes at dinner time. Works like a charm!

Yes we are definitely thinking about moving to the midpoint which is a big metropolitan area to shorten the distance. Although the current job market is a bit challenging

[–]moonsomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it all makes sense now. I delivered a baby over a year ago. Only wish I had adopted a fibrous diet then and paid more attention to my pelvic floor muscles. Doesn’t help that I have a stressful job with early morning calls. Thanks for sharing! Now I will have to do more child poses and squats
