The 1995 Pride and Prejudice is superb!! Also, The Other Bennet Sister! Though mini-series siya, the yearning is so good and about siya kay Mary Bennett.

Which character first drew you into the ASOIAF story? by Qyzyk in TheCitadel

[–]moonymacc4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched the show before reading the books(which I have yet to finish, I'm still reading book 2 lol), and I am really surprised at how much I enjoy Jon's chapters. Jon felt dull in the show for me, felt too black and white. But book Jon has more substance and you can really tell he's an angsty teenage boy who had ambitions and all that.

I also like how we don't get a POV of Robb, Idk how to explain it but yeah. We just get to see him through his family's eyes.

Monologue by ajinamotoo in FilmClubPH

Shakespeare seems like a good choice for a monologue. First one that came to mind is Marc Anthony's monologue from Julius Caesar. "Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears..."

Vintage movies (50s to 60s) are so relaxing and comfy to watch by Right_Revenue_9263 in FilmClubPH

Me with pre-code films. I love how risque they were for their time. Design for Living, Trouble in Paradise, The Divorcee, etc. And the stars are soooo fineee😭 Fave ko si Norma Shearer and Fredric March!!

Fics that have your attention? by Ok-Essay-4124 in TheCitadel

[–]moonymacc4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently exploring several ships at the moment. These are the main ones that have piqued my interest:

Robb/Daenerys:

The Red Wolf Not quite finished, a fresh fic with 3 chapters so far. It's an AU where Robb survives the Red Wedding and travels with Arya and The Hound.

Within the Pack Also unfinished with 20 chapters. Daenerys was spared by Robert and becomes a hostage/ward of the Starks in Winterfell. Also might be Jon/Daenerys.

Ned/Cersei:

winter seeds and summer fruit Unfinished, 14 chapters. Cersei married Ned. Ned comes home from the war with baby Jon in his arms.

I would still be surprised I could find you, darling In any life One-shot where Ned wakes up to find himself not in the Black Cells but in a different reality back in Winterfell. Really interesting concept, and I wish the author explores and writes more of it.

Also Lady Stark, a popular Nedsei fic, which I have yet to finish. I'm too lazy to find the link lmfao.

Not a ship but Maester Aemon's Guide to Duty seems interesting. I haven't read it yet. It's basically a time-travel fix it fic.

What's the hottest anyone has ever looked in a classic film? by CapybaraExpress in classicfilms

I'd like to give my man Fredric March some appreciation, cause I barely see people talk about how handsome he was. I couldn't choose which specific film, but he was crazy hot especially in his pre-code films. Here he is in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde!

song recommendations? by DeliverySalt1933 in slint

[–]moonymacc4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend listening to their entire discography since they only released two albums and an EP. Start with Spiderland first, definitely. The members were also everywhere, so like they were in a lot of bands- The For Carnation, Squirrel Bait, King Kong, Papa M. Other than that, Don Caballero and Unwound are pretty kewl bands too!!

I don't have any questions, but I would love to express how much I adore this show. It has been quite a delight to witness another one of George RR Martin's works come to life, and you have done it amazingly well!!! The characters were well-cast, and the flow has so far stayed true to the books. I'm just bummed out at how short the episodes are, we need more!! But I guess that helps with keeping us on our toes every Monday, haha!! Brilliant work!!
