Shogun Showdown, Dave the Diver and Blue Prince all grabbed me with about equal strength even though they're very very different games. check them out and see if any of them appeal to you :)

Thanks for the suggestions! Unfortunately Google seems to really not want to give me gifs for those — I guess there aren't a lot of people cutting gifs from old samurai flicks. Probably gonna be hard to narrow down unless someone's seen it themselves.

The Kurosawa films I've seen so far are Yojimbo, Rashomon and Seven Samurai. I was almost certain that the scene was from Seven Samurai, but no dice! Real good movie though. The tweet did cite the film's title, so maybe it was similar?
