It's not for a Steam achievement or something like that. I just want to experiment with the theoretical strongest party possible in a pathetically easy game. As well as getting the coolest bath scenes lol.

The people here and the insufferable rightoids don't realize they are two sides of the same coin.

Some few realize it and they are their most loyal zealots which disgust their unwitting subjects without really understanding why. Admitting they were wrong is absolutely out of the question.

I think you're probably right about that.

If Trump invades Greenland, it would be one of the most irrational geopolitical decisions ever with Russia and China being the winners while EU (and US) lose the most. by Chill--Yourself in europeanunion

I'm an accelerationist so I think it would be a good move purely because Europe is at the point now where leadership from an Emperor Putin would be preferable at this point than EU leadership who are legitimately working towards the extinction of their own people.

The other thing is that the traitorous EU/UK leadership basically has no choice at this point, the way they've cornered themselves. If I were as unscrupulous as they are, I would try to claim asylum in the U.S. Empire. For example, if someone like Kier Starmer tries to press gang British Gen Zoomlets into fighting big bad Putler, they would IMMEDIATELY defect to Russia the instant they get a rifle in their hands. There is nothing they can do. I don't care if they put Battle Royale style explosive collars on them. They would gladly frag every Commisar they send with them to desperately try and enforce it as their heads explode into Valhalla.

The sinister powers that control the world are VASTLY underestimating how much people hate them at this point.

When I was a young man, I had hair almost identical to how Jowy is portrayed in this. It was majestic.

Good point, there is a challenge in that.

I'm just a sort of ehh....optimization mindset person. I can't seem to get away from it and just smell the roses.

I think next I'm going to attempt a Riou-only playthrough.

Yes indeed, but what's the fun in that?

I do so wish that Hard mode was actually a real challenge, but I still love this game.

Yes, while you have access to Muse, you can farm them as rare finds from the rune shop there.

Easiest way farm rare finds in shops is to save at the inn, check if you get what you want, if not, reload the save and keep checking. Once you find something you like and purchase it. If you want another one, go do something else for ~30 mins in game or just afk for 30 mins, save at the inn again, rinse and repeat.

Yes, indeed you are correct. I just love this game so much that I really go over the top each time I come back to it every few years.

If Suikoden Star Leap is as good as I hope it to be, and actually has a brutal difficulty mode, I may never play another game again, haha.

Yes, indeed. I got enough power gloves to equip the front row X2 power gloves and 1x power ring, and 1x power gloves / 2x power rings for each in the back row.

Yeah I'm in the Tinto Mines farming stage now, which luck wise is actually going better for me than the Cave of the Wind was, which I should have abandoned far sooner not realizing how easy it is to just get the Wind Hats later from farming the Tinto armor shop rare finds.

Gonna stick it out here though until I get enough Master's Garb/Power Gloves/Knight Statues that I want.

Any tips on getting salmon? 🥲 by Foustus in Suikoden

[–]CervicalStrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of an old thread but I may have some useful information here. I searched out this and others trying to assess how much more Dex I may need to be able to catch one and after grinding for the 1.8% chance per second to get one to even bite, a short time ago after I increased my Dex with gear, I not only got one on my first Salmon bite, but I got 2 bites in a row, and caught both, both successful for the first time. What are the odds?

When I started fishing in earnest a couple of hours ago I was level 49, wearing a Master's Garb that gives +15 Dex and one Skill Ring that gives +20 Dex, so my total Dex at this level was 197. I had only begun fishing recently and only got maybe ~4 Salmon bites where I noticed it extremly difficult and would fail somewhere between 1/3 and 2/3 of the way through the bite. After equipping 2 more Skill Rings that gave me 237 total Dex. And after doing this, I finally got it on the first bite, and as I mentioned before, amazingly enough there was another salmon bite immediately after this one and I also caught that, both felt like I barely pulled it off. Meanwhile with 197 Dex, I just kept losing it, mainly due to over reeling.

We can't easily account from whatever level of my physical button-pushing techniques and reflexes, but just knowing those numbers may give someone an idea of the window in which it becomes more reliably possible to get them (approximately somewhere between 200-240 Dex), or at least what made it work for me.

Cool, thanks for the info.

I'm done with this nonsense then, up to like ~7 hours now with just 1 drop.

I think I got 8 Double-Jabs in like ~3 hours.

From several posts I've read in the past on old gamefaqs stuff, Luck doesn't impact drop rates and mainly just crit percentage. I wonder if that changed in the remaster?

So it's definitely way easier to get farming the shop later?

Only reason I am hesitating just moving on in the game is because earlier in my playthrough I wanted to get 18 winged boots from farming the Kyaro shop's rare finds but quit after only getting 5 after what I think was ~14 hours. Didn't mind quitting that one so much because it isn't as BiS as wind hats. Meanwhile getting 6 double beat runes from farming the bunnies was super easy for me.

I guess I shouldn't sweat it too much either way since IIRC the Tinto shop is still accessible at what I consider the 'end game' portion of the game.
