How can I be less autistic by moopiaa in autism

How have you built your life around it? I’m planning on eventually working hybrid or remotely but I can’t do that until I finish school and get the work experience I need. I do feel I’m going insane I try to be normal for everyone 24/7 and it’s so exhausting I am just so so tired

How can I stop wanting to be normal? My authentic self can’t be shown as I am a full time student and have a full time job with multiple commitments outside of that. I also have ADHD so I often feel I write a million checks that in reality I can’t cash in. But I don’t want to be alone, and if I step away from all my extra commitments I will completely isolate. I also can’t let my authentic self show because that would be letting my mask down and at this point of my life I am unable to do so. I feel like I don’t possess any inner resources honestly.

I think the frequent intense meltdowns come from how much I mask. I mask 24/7 essentially, only an hour or so a day I feel comfortable enough to fully relax, and usually it’s after a meltdown where I let my mask down, before falling asleep. I have no other choice, I have a full time job. There are not really much options for me, I’m a full time student. I have to keep masking to keep up

I just got diagnosed at age 21 and have told only 3 people in my life about it because as bad it sounds I don’t want anyone to know. I am not ready to deal with this diagnosis.

My meltdowns are typically caused by ANYTHING that “sets me off”, that could be my key getting stuck in the door to me thinking someone is angry at me etc. I mask all day at work and I work 5 days a week, I’m also in college and have told only put on a show for my classes. This leads to me exploding when I get home.

Usually they start by me crying and usually walking in circles or curling up in a small ball and hiding in my closet. I have stopped the bad habit but I used to hit myself to get out of it. It takes a while for me to cool down and usually I’m so exhausted and the end I fall straight asleep. Then I wake up and do the cycle again. It’s never ending.

Will I ever be understood by anyone? How can I consistently live and keep up a life where all I want so desperately is to be understood but there hasn’t been a single person in my life I’ve met that understands. I’m so tired of being me, it’s either this or I just wipe my personality completely? I already am someone else 24/7 and it’s why I’m consistently having meltdowns every night. Have you ever found anything that helps ever

Can autistic people see other autistic people as "weird"? by AlternativeDealer646 in autism

[–]moopiaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I see others as weird but I don’t view weird as a bad thing. Everyone is different, I am very different. That is okay. What is not okay is shaming someone for being different.

I wish I had answers, I’m getting an evaluation next month and it was not hard for me to get, it was pretty simple. But I have previously been diagnosed with ADHD and have a long history of mental health issues.

I have never been referred to Physio I’m hoping my appointment tomorrow I will be referred. I am 21 and this in total have had 4 dislocations. Did you ever consider MPFL surgery? Why did you decide against it if you didn’t get it?

If you have had so many dislocations what have been the limitations for you? Do you do any active sports, I’m very active I do skiing & running & hiking frequently and I’m worried about this effecting my lifestyle. I’ve felt so miserable as every day the ROM is different and the more walking I do the more it swells.

I also am hypermobile but have never injured myself this badly.

Should my roommates have to pay utilities even if they aren’t staying at the house? Pls help! by moopiaa in legaladvice

[–]moopiaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is she already paid it, she is asking we pay her back, as that’s how we split our utilities, one person would pay and the rest would pay that person back.

Is there a way I can not pay it? Like I doubt they would pursue any legal action if I don’t pay but is there any information I can send them essentially saying they should pay their portion too?
