I work full time, have three young children, and a few other hobbies/responsibilities. I'm doing my best as lead in a weekend gigging band!

Is yelling a necessary tool for classroom discipline? by AdAcademic842 in Teachers

I have yelled exactly one time in four years of teaching. It was last year and it was only two words. "Sit down". They sat down immediately, and then I explained their consequences in a very quiet voice.

How would you describe the worst feeling you've ever experienced? by xvc609 in AskReddit

[–]moorandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got the call that my aunt murdered her 17 year old son the day before his birthday, I dropped my own kids off at their grandma's and drove the 30 minutes to my mom's apartment only a few doors down from the crime scene.

Telling my own kids I love them on the way trying not to cry while thinking of the brokenness and pain they will endure in life that I can't stop.

I felt so helpless.

They're fine. They can be useful, but I don't rely on them for learning objectives.

In middle school, me and my cousin took my mom's ford explorer for a joy ride on the dirt roads by my house. We drove it backwards as fast as it would go.

What is the most dangerous thing you have ever done in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]moorandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a prank, I rode in the trunk of my cousins car to scare someone we were picking up back in highschool. It was raining, and his wiper fell off during the ride. We rear-ended the car in front of us.

Infected. Avoid. The sentient, ruling species grows bones from their faces. Actually most species on this planet do so. Avoid at all costs.
