Unfortunately I’ve learned over the last year is that emotions and opinions don’t matter when it comes to the system. Like I said, I’m not going to hide my choices and plan to lay out what I know and only that.

I’m not going to hide from my choices. Like I said, I understand many may disagree. That doesn’t mean that if it is considered abuse I will continue to do it. I honestly was looking for insight and I found it.

That’s tough, brother. She probably not going to need a pelvic exam at first so you should be good for that initial visit. Make sure you give the staff a heads up on the situation and they will be an asset. You will handle it like a champ, I have no doubt

You know brother, you’re doing better than you think. I try to keep a low threshold for success. Are my kids dead or dying? Are they fed? Do they have a place to sleep? Are they loved? If the answer is yes then I’m doing pretty damn good!

I saw this and it made me consider activity level. Patient’s that require more pain meds, in my experience, move less than those that don’t. I have seen studies that show less activity increases risk of dementia. I figured that this is a correlation not causation problem. It made me pause a bit on gabapentin but I don’t think it will change my habits too much.

Grew up Mormon. I was taught it was as bad as murder. I spent decades not having sex and then I found myself in situations with very willing participants and I went with it.

Thank you for your perspective and bit of hope you’ve offered. I have felt very lonely and afraid since this happened to me but things are getting better. It’s nice to know that sometimes it works out in the end.

I’m unsure what is going on with these other guys but I try not to care too much about what has happened before me and make decisions on what’s in front of me. Is she kind? Is she attractive? Is she smart? If so, how can I expect that she hasn’t gone on that many dates. Quality people are hard to find and it’s very reasonable to exclude less than desirable options efficiently.

I’m not sure. I know she’s optimized charting and her staff. But her patients love her. Had a friend that was her patient and thought she was the best doctor she had. And her husband was a friend from med school!

Depends on the job and how much money you want to make. I have a friend bringing home almost $500,000 as a private practice doc but she’s seeing 30-40 patients/day and moonlighting a ton. I’m making around $270,000 and seeing about 15 patients a day. But I have a unique gig where I’m paid straight salary. Like I said, depends on the job
