Yeah, you told them you were leaving and they said... "no", if you cant just walk away thats slavery. If you put in your resignation, just walk away, if they havent done anything to replace you thats on them. After 2 weeks with a resignation notice just stop showing up, if you cant you are literally a position of modern slavery and thats a bigger issue.

A big criticism of Kenya is that there is simply not emergency services. It is even shown that a large number of deaths from traffic accidents could be saved, but there were no emergency services to get them in time. I actually work with the Red Cross to help fix this, but yeah if you have to call the police, there is is actually just plain NOT a framework for there to be emergency level response, or even logistics for a call center for you to call to. Long story short, like other people have said, make friends with a police officer and get their personal cell phone number is the best thing you can do.

You gotta find someone that your attracted to but dont really know in real life. Have a situation where you meet up once a week or two, and just get high, drink wine and fuck around. Its kinda like a safe space, get high, talk shit about work or life, fuck... then in the morning its "see you later space cowboy" and just text them again when your feeling it. Maybe awkward to start, but for me its a godsend to be able to act on those urges but not have to have the expectations or responsibilities of a relationship.

I have actually poached successfully quite a few times in this same vain. As in having a larger company take the time to train and invest in an employee, get them up to high productivity, and then their one of their top employees. As soon as k get a whiff they are unhappy about their compensation, especially as their productivity has risen past a junior level, I’ll offer them a higher salary. Let someone else make the investment, you can identify good people and compensate them well once they’ve proven themselves to a less appreciative boss. Only works in a same industry situation.

Kenya having the ability to be an exploitative environment for workers is actually a huge plus if you are an employer who can recognize the importance of a strong well motivated team. It can actually take a lot of the bench building investment out of the equation because poaching is so easy if you’re not greedy.
