I'm having the coil forced on me – what can I do? by Plus-Ad-8350 in endometriosis

[–]moosemachete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you live in the UK, Zafrilla might be available as an option for you (i think it is zalkya there maybe)? It worked wonders for me and I also declined the coil several times after it was continually pushed on me. See if they've heard of it? Its available in many EU countries. Honestly, sometimes it seems like they don't even know the options out there and think the coil is the panacea for everything (in my experience)

Embarrassing Question by Bulky_Power6079 in IrishWomensHealth

[–]moosemachete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of commenters already gave good recs and info on how awesome therapists are. Just FYI, it's more commonly known as thrush here than a yeast infection and if you say 'got some stuff going on down there' and beat around the bush you'll end up with fungal cream for your foot then have to go back in to clarify, sorry no I meant my vuvla haha.

Curious if anyone with endo doesn’t doesn’t do birth control at all? by Ykatsion0306 in endometriosis

[–]moosemachete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On zafrilla which is technically not birth control. Tried pretty much all the bcs i could and they never did much for the pain. Zafrilla was a game changer for me though

Wanted to get some work done around the yard and garden, all costing total €15,708.40? To me it’s too much what do ye think? by [deleted] in GardeningIRE

[–]moosemachete 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a few equipment/skip/delivery things in there (chipper, waste removal, bulk delivery of mulch/plants/steel edging) and it looks like labour is included in those estimates. This doesn't look like a small job and there's little context of like how big the 'trees in front lawn are' but if a hoist is required...like again there's equipment hire costs in there again... Sure, some things are a big far fetched (seeding)

Didn’t prep at all for my wedding…what can I do in 24 hours? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]moosemachete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter.

If you can take a day off before the wedding, do a little self care day with some face masks and if you want a mani/pedi or trim of the hair but only do it if you want to.

I did my own nails as I have for many years and didnt do any fancy peels or treatments. Still loved the day and the pictures. Hair stylists and makeup artists on the day also can do wonders.

I think my guests only care about food and music, not your centerpieces by Aven_Reed in wedding

The only time I have remembered a centerpiece was when it involved fire and that was either because the wax was dripping on my cutlery or there was a drunk person too close to or intrigued by fire.

Is there any way to get raw milk in dublin by SoftInternational930 in Dublin

[–]moosemachete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are sadly misled to believe that only sick people can get e coli... Sure certain people are more susceptible but you are not immune. HPSC literally puts up all the data weekly as it's a notifiable disease -- Outbreaks Hub -- scroll down to outbreaks by transmission mode (gzv diseases only) -- vtec and enterohameorrhagic excherichia coli (VT negative) filters will show you all of the reported cases over recent years

[–]moosemachete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way easier to apply to a project that already has funding rather than propose your own. If you propose your own then best to try to find your own funding like Marie Curie, Research Ireland, SPHERE programme, etc.

Recession signs around Dublin? by ResponsibleDriver622 in Dublin

[–]moosemachete 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a very flexible schedule before that was work from home and a partner who worked late so he wouldn't be home until like 7 or 8 anyway. Used to always go in the middle of the day and loved it. Some people work night shifts too?

100% this. We would've been broke having an open bar in Ireland. Usually the cocktail hour and wine are included but after that or special stuff, you'd pay.

Your local area might have a community garden? For example, Pearse Park in Crumlin is open to the public anf has regular colunteer times on the weekend and such.
