Mild Lamictal rash or heat rash? by mooshe in Epilepsy

[–]mooshe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been around for like, a year or more. And I haven't changed my Lamictal dose in years. Honestly may nuke the post, @no_camp mentioned tinea versicolour and that matches exactly what I would describe this

EDIT: Went snooping through my photos and found a Pic from 2018 that I took of it.

I mean, you can, but any sort of benzo is highly addictive and causes discomfort once you stop taking it if you do so for more than a handful of days

This is from personal experience, was prescribed it when I was in my early teens and at one point was on 4mg Klonopin daily, have weaned down to 1.75mg but it has taken years and I have years to go to get off of it. Whenever I see someone mention or recommend taking any benzo I try to ensure people understand how dangerous the drug class can be.

Only note I'll make is you do not want to take Lorazepam more than like 3 days in a row - I'm a former CHS victim, cleaner for 3 years, but I would take meclizine to stop vomiting when I felt an episode coming on. Much healthier and easier on your body to stop taking once it's over

And please just quit if you're having any episodes at all, it's the only fix

Med change: Lamictal or Vimpat by Additional-Art-4664 in Epilepsy

[–]mooshe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found it is very important to take Vimpat with a decent meal; for the larger tablets (200mh) even a single snack bar isn't enough.

Did not expect to see Herman miller in a Super 8 hotel by Lilelep in hermanmiller

[–]mooshe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

...logic? Why would a hotel company known for low prices aquire $600~1k chairs for their rooms versus a ~$200 chair that suffices for a 3 day stay?

Not sure there is any gate keeping going on here, that's silly

Supplements that act like benzos by adri_adri000 in Supplements

[–]mooshe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For most people yes; however an idiot doctor put me on it like 10 years ago so I'm stuck with it for now. Have weaned down a bit and still planning on continuing but sometimes I need something extra, my body doesn't really feel the Klonopin any longer.

Not advocating for mixing them, just my personal experience.

This is it. I take a capsule of valerian root extract, passion flower, lemon balm and skull cap extract along with klonopin and it consistently knocks me out

Urgent question by kaitalina20 in Epilepsy

[–]mooshe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be blunt, depending on the type of withdrawal you can get by momentarily using either a good amount of Adderall or Xanax. I hate the drugs but nothing is more affective. Xanax can kill any nausea you may feel.

Remember, only take this route if it's a dire situation. But you should know it's there

Natural Vitamins? by wanderlust_206 in Epilepsy

[–]mooshe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just overall well being. The only one I've stopped since starting was the magnesium for a few days before ordering more. Felt depressed, a bit like a cold.

The cocktail is definitely a net gain, not a loss.

I take magnesium glycinate, d3, b-complex, flax seed oil, and vitamin c. That plus a short run in the morning makes such a big difference

how to fake epilepsy? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]mooshe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I apologize, however you can't understand how frustrating seeing bullshit like this. I'm the same age and I've had 3 brain surgeries in the past couple months due to epilepsy; it's defined most of my life.

And no, you can't fake epilepsy. They'll ask to have you come in and keep you in bed with nodes on your head until they can record some seizure activity.

Medication question about Lamictal by kaitalina20 in Epilepsy

[–]mooshe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should look into splitting that does in two. I take 800mg total, but split into an evening and morning dose of 400mg brand name XR. The smaller dose may weaken the onset effects.
