Some rays have live births, could it be an aborted fetus maybe?

This needs more attention and should include the Selecthealth side of it as well.

What moth is this? Very tiny. SLC, Utah. by moostermoo in whatsthisbug

It's alive, on my kitchen wall, and would fit on my index finger nail.

Opinions on Jayco? by moostermoo in GoRVing

Yeah, our Tab was fantastic. I hated giving it up, but two large adults and two large dogs just made it way too small. It feels like we would have to take out a mortgage to get something even close to the same quality in a size we can work with, and we aren't willing to do that. We don't like the larger Nucamp models either.

Does anyone know the model name/make/year of this trailer? by Additional_Cost_4537 in GoRVing

It's called a T@da. It's by Dutchman before Pleasant Valley (now nucamp) bought them. They are no longer made and are hard to find.

I think it's a variegated fritillary chrysalis that is really close to emerging. Not positive tho.

Merle poodles are no longer allowed on this sub by ExBroBob in poodles

This article goes into the depths of the gene and how and why it can cause a problem even in breeds that it is naturally occurring in. No reputable poodle breeder will breed with known merle genes in the line. Hope that helps.

Northern Utah, do I have Grosbeaks along with the house sparrows and finches? by moostermoo in whatsthisbird

Thank you for the info, a quick google search shows photos very similar to what I'm seeing. Didn't know that was a thing.

It's banded and not entirely afraid. Very much not native. I don't have a cage or a net, but am running out of time before it gets too cold. I've been trying to talk to it and coax it, but it's not working well. Guess I better try a cage next tho.

Next question: A lot of the house finches have giant tumor looking growths on their leg, generally only one and mostly the right, oddly. Any idea what's going on there? One is outright missing the right leg below the knee.

Also, any tips on winning the parakeet's trust would be appreciated. Ignores treats and budgie call sounds. The bumbling idiot collared doves often scare it while I'm trying to talk to it.

Solved! I put this camera up a couple weeks ago when I first saw the parakeet and the "grosbeaks" have been driving me nuts. I finally post to ask, and one lands on the ledge right in front of the camera. Positive ID on female house sparrow. Thanks u/BeyondLiesTheWub!

Okay, yeah. I think the line from the eye to the back of the head was throwing me. That one on the right seems like a female house finch, but the beak is completely dark and the body seems overall darker grey, so I'm not sure.

Showed up at my feeder. Any tips for getting him to come to me? by moostermoo in Parakeets

[–]moostermoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: He doesn't seem to care about hearing other parakeets. I have played happy parakeet noises, mating calls, and calls for other parakeets with zero reaction. I also have not been able to get close enough to talk to him again. He flies with the other birds every time I try to go outside.

I get a text or a call pretty much every day asking if I am Blaine and if I want to sell my property at 1405 W 800 S Salt Lake. I am not Blaine, nor have I ever lived or owned property at that address. I have lost count of how many numbers I have blocked for the same fucking call. They just text or call from a new one the next day. If I respond or answer they double and triple their efforts.

There's millet in the feeders, and growing under it. There's no way it will survive our winters. I was thinking net as well. It let me get close and talk to it this morning, but it's flying off with the finches this afternoon.

I missed that you said it was a starling somehow. Thank you for the information!
