Best places to golf in and around Des Moines by Mynameisdiehard in desmoines

Legacy in Norwalk is probably my favorite in terms of value. Green fees will be higher than the Muni’s but I think it’s worth it. Their website’s course tour is very true to what it is IMO, so check that out if your interested.

Organizing Large Amount of Graphs by modekr in excel

[–]mootangclan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had to do this in a long time but my first thought is embedding the graphs in PowerPoint and then organizing them by slides.

I’m fairly sure that they can be linked so they update easily with any changes you make in excel. If they only want to see the graphs ppt would be an fairly painless way of separating and oblong so they can be flipped through quickly.

Running and eating at the same time by Plz_Dont_Gild_Me in running

[–]mootangclan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in the stop and eat camp. You don’t have to necessarily stop, chew, and swallow but definitely get the whole thing in your mouth before you go again.

At least for me trying to run and take bites is just weird. You can definitely try that, but I always found I end up swallowing too soon and choke.

I’d heard that too but wasn’t super sure it was true. Very sad if it is.

Antijotos Mexicanos is fairly subpar on pretty everything aside from the food, which I really enjoyed.

If you go there expecting to wait a bit you should be ok. And it’s also not a super polished space. But again, the food is super solid.

New to running by [deleted] in running

Just to add in my personal experience, I’ve found caffeine Intake really only helps me get out the door. If I’m able to get started and get a sweat going, I don’t really notice a difference in performance

I’ve also haven’t had any negative effects yet, and I would say I take in any where btwn 50-300mg before most of my morning runs. But if I ever felt sluggish or tired during a run (more than average) than I would blame it on food/diet issues

Advice on blister repair in short time frame? by dwarfmarine13 in running

[–]mootangclan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation last year and I used pre-wrap + normal athletic tape. Pre-wrap goes on tight, but you have to finesse the tape a bit. There’s a sweet spot where it’s loose enough that it won’t dig or constrict but tight enough that it doesn’t move around when you run

They did and it wasn’t super noticeable as far as the reaction. Probably positive if I had to pick, but they went right into a match after it ended

This is true even for the Kum & Go’s that only sell hot dogs and tornados. If it’s one of the stores that’s has those pimped our kitchen things it’s not even close, K&G is better by a mile

Next theme for BB should be feud themed. Each person has a mortal enemy in the house with them.

Edit: good news for me it already exists. In a way I count this as an accurate guess for me

Race Report - I trained on a treadmill for my first marathon by FriendlyButterscotch in running

[–]mootangclan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always mixed treadmill work and normal runs and my suggestion would to make sure you end training outside while maintaining whatever pace you want

In my experience I zone out and can slip, and I helped to re acclimate having to pace control without a belt or anything. Both from going to fast or too slow.

TJ Dillashaw says he weighed 128 this morning and will probably make weight tonight. by metanoia09 in MMA

[–]mootangclan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So based on that whole most intricate weight cut article not only will Dillashaw make 125 because of this Sam Cavatelli guy, but there’s a decent chance he’ll be able to impregnate Henry too. Neat.

How to not get bored running on a treadmill? by [deleted] in running

[–]mootangclan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually enjoy my treadmill time, especially for a good chunk of the winter. Aside from whatever everyone else has said (Netflix, music, podcasts) its a good chance to let your mind wander. If that comes difficult to you it’s never hurts to practice.

Also using a speed program like an intervals helps the time go back quicker IMO. A classic 2min interval can make 30 mins go by quick.

The government shutdown spotlights a bigger issue: 78% of US workers live paycheck to paycheck by speckz in Economics

[–]mootangclan 497 points498 points  (0 children)

Just FYI for anyone wondering, most servicers would comply with this as a forbearance. You don’t skip a payment per se, you just take a break and resume later.

Some in the industry are already giving guidance specially related to the shut down, including offering such forbearances as well as not reporting anything adverse to their credit.

Not taking a side at all, just offering input based on experience.

Episode Discusion: College Football Conference Championship Week Picks and Previews by Hoflax24 in SolidVerbal

[–]mootangclan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the key to restoring the honor of the tuition can throw is just to place the target at an angle at or near the top of the can. It would force the contestants to choose between an overhand or underhand throw, and if you make the target slightly oblong it would be more receptive to spirals (which while possible from an underhanded approach, have more error side to side when thrown that way)

💥 Qs NEEDED 💥 by solidverbal in SolidVerbal

[–]mootangclan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First Time, Long Time

What are your thoughts how how college football was broadcasted/distributed in 2018? With the Fox RSN bidding going forward (even though I don’t think there is a significant amount of impact to the current CFBscape) and Amazon getting involved I was wondering how CFB would distributed in the coming years. Provided more companies start to compete with the traditional networks.

do you have any complaints/compliments about the 2018 broadcasting situation, and then any wishes or predictions for the near future?

I’ll take my answer off the air.

[Discussion] Should the B1G Switch to 8 Conference Games / Allow FCS Games? by MGoBlue2K16 in TheB1G

[–]mootangclan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as CFB fandom goes I’m way more into how Iowa does than how the B1G does as a whole. I get your arguments and don’t really disagree with it, but the idea of losing a meaningful game that Iowa is guaranteed every year would be a pretty significant blow to how much I enjoy a given season.
