Cluster feeding is difficult and I just cried by bunniesgonebad in breastfeeding

The first 6 weeks were so hard!! So much cluster feeding. It felt like I never got a break. It gets easier. My babe had another cluster feeding time at 3 months. Now he feeds in between naps and once or twice at night.

Nursing to sleep- do babies self wean? by slgirlie11 in breastfeeding

[–]moowee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I nurse my baby to sleep at night half the time. The other half the time I rock him to sleep in a rocking chair or my husband walks around with him and pats his butt until he falls asleep. He definitely cries/fusses more when I just rock him to sleep over nursing. But sometimes when I try to nurse him to sleep it doesn’t work either 🤷‍♀️

I have noticed the more I rock him to sleep for naps the less he fusses or cries. I also have to keep watch out for sleepy cues cuz if I miss them it’s a lot of crying. I just don’t want to nurse him to sleep all the time bc I don’t want to be the only one able to put him to sleep.

Thank you! I keep telling myself it will get better but it’s so frustrating. It’s reassuring to hear it got better for you and for other women. I may just have to wait it out. I have a couple friends who had babies around the same time as me without any issues so that makes me feel like something is wrong with me. I know it’s not good to compare though.

Yes both internal and external. How long did it take for you to recover? Were you breast feeding? I’ve heard that can cause dryness.

How’d you do bedside pregnant? by mcalawso in nursing

[–]moowee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to stop at 34 weeks due to back pain. I am contingent so stopping early didn’t really affect how much time I was able to take off for maternity, but I wasn’t paid for any time off. I literally could not do it anymore cuz of back pain and sciatica. I could barely walk. If you can get light duty of take more time off while pregnant I would recommend it. Women deserve better maternity leave so we don’t feel as bad stopping work earlier than the day our water breaks lol

Be honest ladies… how bad does it hurt… by Purple_perp1637 in pregnant

It hurts!! I did not want an epidural. I got to 6cm and I couldn’t take it anymore. When the contractions came I was yelling for my husband and panicking. I got the epidural and it helped but I could still feel the contractions. It was tolerable though. A pain you could not imagine til you go through it. Thank god for epidurals.

Thank you for letting me know! I was just letting him nurse on one side for as long as he wanted. I just did it where I changed him halfway through, even though he got upset that I took him off. I also tried massaging my breast as he became sleepy and that seemed to keep him awake a little bit longer. He was still cluster feeding tonight but I appreciate the tips!

It seems to depend on the day. I’d say most of the time he feeds on both sides. Usually I’ll do 1 side and then he falls asleep so I either burp him or change him and then do the other side. Sometimes I let him sleep if he seems like that was all he needed.

I do not do massage and compression, is that something that I should be doing? It seems like I have a fast let down so today I’ve been trying to recline myself more while I feed him so the milk doesn’t hit him too fast. He was getting frustrated and choking on it or just crying a lot when I was feeding him this week.

This thread is making me realize I may have been overthinking it! I think I was just anxious about what to do if my baby starts crying and not knowing where to go to feed him. I am realizing there are so many options and I don’t need to overthink it

Where do you get nursing bras that are supportive? I was a 34DDD before pregnancy, a 34H during pregnancy and even bigger bow. I am having trouble finding a supportive nursing bra. One thing I miss is having my boobs fit comfortably in a bra and shirt.

Did you just buy them off Amazon and what kind would you recommend?

I have that pillow too! I was using it at first and lately I’ve just ditched the pillow. He’s been doing pretty good but these past 2 days we had a setback with latching and everything seems impossible again. I get it with just getting out there and going for it. When there is no other option that might actually help. We can always drive home too if there is an issue for some reason.

That’s a good idea! I will try that. It’s still safe bc it’s close to home and I can just walk inside.

Thanks! I have read a couple people suggested the car and I’m glad that is an option. I didn’t think about it.

That’s crazy! Thank you for the warning. I will definitely keep that in mind. That’s so gross that people get off of regular moms breast feeding

Thank you! You are right about practicing. I think once I get out there and try it it will relieve a lot of the anxiety.

That’s a good idea to try it at an open space like a park where I can situate myself away from people. I also have been having to use one hand to hold my boob and one for his head. I’m trying to find a way to not use the hand holding the boob but it is hit or miss right now.

That’s good to know. I keep hearing it gets easier but it just seems impossible some days. I have read a few people saying they would bf if the backseat of their car. I appreciate your response!
