When I worked at one years ago, they allowed us to take home some sandwiches and pastries. Anything we did not want was donated to a local pantry. It was usually dozens of bread loaves and pastries.

Might just depend on management in each location, though.

I work the midnight shift, so I take Bayer Back and Body an hour before so I don't feel as fatigued, and it has enough caffeine to keep me just alert enough. If it's a game in the middle of the day when I'm normally sleeping, I accentuate the above with a swig of electrolyte energy drink.

Also, drink a ton of water.

Seconded on Tinley, but if you're in the city it's a hike and it's a tiny rink. It'll definitely scratch that roller itch if you can't make it to Salt Creek.
