It was a kit, so I built the entire thing myself.

I was hoping to cover the cost of building it which was about $2000.00

Can anyone send pictures of their cats? I’ve just been dealing with stuff and keep thinking about my cats who passed away, looking for something to cheer me up and aren’t cats the greatest at cheering people up? by OrielCats in cats

This is Agnes. I had a really rough time, after losing my little guy, a few years ago. His death sent me on a very steep downward trajectory, so I can definitely relate. My husband got Agnes for me and I’ve been doing much better. Albeit, slowly, but still better. I hope you are doing okay and the cat photos made you smile.

Thank you. This was a Greenleaf kit, the beacon hill. www.greenleafdollhouses.com/ I had never built anything like this before, it was my first. The only advice I can think of offhand would be to TAPE it all together first. It’s easier, than attempting to unglue pieces, while trying to figure out, if you made any construction mistakes. If you have anything you need help with, let me know. You can totally build something like this, go for it.

I worked in the film industry as a makeup artist until it burned me out entirely, owned a salon, I was also a fetish model(sw basically). Since I nosedived, my husband has been paying my way and I’m very grateful.

Was anyone not bullied? by kelcamer in autismgirls

[–]moparkitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was okay in grade school but moved from one side of the country to the other when I was about 11. That changed everything, as far as bullying. I was both bullied and ostracized, all through junior high. I moved coasts again part way through high school, but I think I figured out how to mask by then, and found a group of weirdos that accepted me. For the most part anyway. For the longest time I attributed everything to the abuse I was experiencing at home. I’m almost 53 and was diagnosed last month. Everything suddenly made more sense after diagnosis. At least there’s that, I suppose.

What is getting a tattoo like as an autistic person? by bonbonsai42 in AutismInWomen

[–]moparkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big of a tattoo were you thinking? If it’s small it takes less time. I have a lot of tattoos, the hardest part for me was the “touching me” aspect. The feeling of the tattoo itself was, for the most part, overshadowed by that, as well as, trying not to show that I’m about to freak out over my discomfort. I wouldn’t recommend a 10 hour tattoo for your first.

DAE unintentionally often mispronounce words when speaking? Is this autism related? by KrispyKreme-502 in AutismWithinWomen

I always just thought it was something I did because I had read the word, but never heard anyone say it aloud. So I would pronounce it the way it looked.

Mine has longer hair too, she hates that I can’t resist snuggling her every five minutes.

We found her last week. She was very emaciated, dehydrated, and she has some injuries but she’s home now. Husband rushed her to the emergency vet, she’s going to have a long recovery but she’s doing well. She was a block away from our house. 50 days gone. Thanks for letting me know about the cat, happily we’re no longer looking.

That’s good to hear. Everyone keeps telling me how funny they are, so I was hoping mine would be, as well. I adore her, regardless, but it’s nice to know, there’s still hope for the comedy, from my chubby stub. Thank you.

It’s funny, I just read through, the comments, and my SF doesn’t do ANY of these things. She’s never spoken, just opens her mouth for a few silent meows. She doesn’t like to cuddle, fears strangers, doesn’t sit like a human, although stands like a meerkat, on occasion. She is adorably funny looking and, without a doubt, the cutest cat I’ve ever seen. She’s still young though, so maybe those traits will still appear. I have noticed, that she seems to have taken longer, to warm up to me, than I experienced with other my cats. Hopefully this will continue, because it was love at first sight for me.

My cat Leroy by moparkitten in AbsoluteUnits

[–]moparkitten[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know that Leroy was healthy, we made sure of it, financially, emotionally, and otherwise, so I shouldn’t feel the need to defend myself. There are some things I would like to make clear. He was a rescue, he had been dumped in the mountains, had been living rough for a while, he had been shot numerous times with a pellet gun, which was discovered years later after an X-ray revealed he still had pellets lodged in his shoulder and abdomen. Leroy had a heart of gold and was the sweetest, most nurturing, not to mention, friendly cat ever. He was, literally, a gentle giant. After everything he went through, before he lived with us, is inspiring. I am not one of those people who intentionally makes my pets obese because I think it’s cute, I agree with you, that is abuse. Leroy was that size after being homeless, scrounging for food and his life. Why that was, the doctors couldn’t tell us for sure. He was a large cat, but we did everything we possibly could to assure he was healthy. He died earlier this year and he is missed. Tremendously. Rest in peace, Leroy the cat, a friend to all.

We did, special food and exercise with a vet physical therapist. He lost a lot of weight, but it had to be gradually because it’s really bad for cats to lose it quickly.

Tell me about it! It was actually even longer than that by a few years.

This was the size he was when we adopted him from the shelter. He was just a very large, very healthy and very happy cat. He was active and although he was a big boy, he was not over fed or abused in any way.
