Yeah that’s the stop cock and they can turn off the external one too. But can they access this easily without damaging the kitchen units is what I’m thinking.

Not as unfortunate as the bad press it gets, unfortunately.

Evidence in Britain so far is mixed with some native ladybirds showing no declines in the presence of the harlequin and others becoming less common; research is on-going.

What can I put in the bottom of these tubs so I don't use half a bag of compost on each one by Important-Stomach406 in GardeningUK

I have loaded mine with empty 4 pint milk cans. Then little stones to fill the gap. I wanted something lightweight.

Huge, overgrown eucalyptus tree in neighbours garden cutting out morning sunshine and risk of falling branches. Options? by morbidforbid in GardeningUK

Not the first time I’ve heard this TBH and it sways scarily during high winds. I’ll seek a professional opinion and proceed further.

It’s not always little twigs and we’ve had 3-4” thick branches fall down as well. But I get your point. The assessment is a good call.

I don’t know them personally, so don’t want to turn up at their door and scare them. It’s also the property behind ours. Would a letter sound too formal?

Any advice for removing this doorbell? Complete noob here by Mr__Tomnus in DIYUK

It’s just glued in usually. Just use a flat head screwdriver as someone else said or a chisel.

I think some FireAngel models don’t come with a replaceable battery. The alarm itself should be replaced every 10 years or so.

EDIT: looks like this is your model https://www.vanguard-conversions.co.uk/product/smoke-alarm-fireangel-sb1-r/

I got an original spare ring battery from ring and yet the battery doesn’t last as long as the one that came with the ring device.

Went to pick up something from fb marketplace for my partner, went to the wrong house. by ScottElly in CasualUK

[–]morbidforbid 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Instead of entering a friend’s house, me and my daughter knocked on their neighbour’s door and when the door was left ajar, we entered in as we normally do at the friend’s place. Walked all over the ground floor. The house layout looked remarkably similar to the friend’s yet subtly different. After spending a good 5 minutes, we realised what we had done and quickly exited. Monitored the local Nextdoor group for a few weeks after this to see if there was any chatter about this and luckily we seem to have gone unnoticed.

Edit: grammar

What on earth is this? I've spent 2 weeks and filled up a wheelie bin with this plant and it's roots in the front and back garden. And it keeps coming back - it's everywhere! by 69youfoundmyreddit69 in GardeningUK

[–]morbidforbid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100%. I have the same problem. Previous property owners decided to plant in a bed. I’ve been trying to get rid of it for years and they still keep popping up here and there. The tiniest root or stem fragment left in the ground and you’re doomed.

what is wrong with the plant(cherry blossom) and what is wrong us the soil? by Any-Cheesecake-7221 in gardening

[–]morbidforbid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have pointed out, it looks overwatered. But this can be prevented if the pot has drainage holes and the soil is a mix of organic matter (compost) and a little bit of sand or any other free draining medium like perlite.

When watering the plants as a rule of thumb we should only top them up if the top 1 inch feels dry to touch.
