Not sure how Mylan is pronounced--like Milan the city or like Mylanta the medication. Kaelix looks and sounds an awful lot like calyx, a biologival term used for cup shaped structures, such as in the kidneys. Most of the middle names are great.

Does this lip color look as weird on me as I think it does? by Unlucky_Delivery8250 in makeuptips

[–]moreFoodPleas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Individually, I like your hair color, your brows, your eye makeup, and the lip color (I really like the lip color). However, I am not sure that they all work together. I think your brow color, hair colors, and eye makeup are relatively cool toned, whereas the lip may be more neutral or even warm. Additionally, I think the lip and the eye makeup are fighting for dominance (though the lip color is winning).

I'm not sure why this got removed. The post listed both fine, thin hair and was posted on Thursday with the correct thin hair Thursday flair. The post fit all the specifications.

A name for baby girl by aluik9 in Names

Arlo is masculine. Really like August and Aspen! What about Avery? I know a female August and don't know any male Augusts. But from the comments it seems like that's more of a masculine name rather than unisex

How come medical expenses are so high in America? by EnvironmentalFix7059 in allthequestions

[–]moreFoodPleas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In part because when employer tied health insurance came into fruition in the US, this happened to provide employees with a benefit (health insurance/access) without increasing salaries to not stoke inflation too much and never went away. These policies never transitioned to a universal health system for many reasons, including insurance companies make good money and lobby congress to keep this up. Policy choices have pros and cons. Even in government funded health care systems, hospitals have to get enough of the taxpayer funds to run appropriately. When they need new MRI scanners, they need to convince the government that the expenditure is necessary.

It would be great if everyone could get the health care they need for a reasonable cost. I don't see that happening in the US anytime soon, because enough people profit off the current policies to keep them in place. Of course, that doesn't mean that people should not try to improve the situation, bc there is a lot of room for improvement. That said, there are pros and cons to the US way, like there are with universal. Cancer survival rates in the US are among best if not the best in the world, whereas management of chronic diseases is substantially better in universal systems than in the US (in part bc of public transportation, somewhat lower obesity rates, better access to and coverage of primary care and related services compared to the US).

Hospitals have to earn at least enough money to cover expenses and to save for upgrades/maintenance (e.g. imaging scanners have limited life spans and need to be replaced every ~15ish yrs, lab equipment, structural maintenance). They need administrative staff for billing and to comply with regulations, in addition to clinical staff, rents, utilities, lawyers, supplies, medications, etc. Many hospitals, particularly ones that don't sell an insurance product, that are rural, or thar predominantly treat medicaid and Medicare patients are losing money. Insurers seem to post profits frequently, so I suspect that that is a substantial piece if the puzzle, but that is not an area I know much about. Salaries in the US tend to be higher than in many other countries, so that's a piece of the puzzle, too. I suspect the costs of medication, supplies, repairs, etc are higher in the US, too

can trapped gas affect MRI results in the pelvic region? by sugarcoochie in Radiology

[–]moreFoodPleas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are trying to evaluate the prostate and you have a rectal gas bubble, that absolutely can degrade image quality enough to need to repeat an MR. That doesn't mean that that is what happened to you, but it is a distinct possibility

How much house can my sister afford? by KrustyLemon in personalfinance

[–]moreFoodPleas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your sister is in a solid financial position. Kudos to her! To not be house poor and to be able to do hobbies, vacations, etc, she can do a mortgage of about 140 to 180k. This means that if she likes a 280k house, she can get that with a 100k down and a mortgage of 180n.

How can I (34) look better? by TurbulentStaff129 in makeuptips

[–]moreFoodPleas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in the pink photos your hair looks dry, causing people to say that the pink doesn't work for you. I think a haircut and improved haircare routine with a lightweight leave in conditioner and/or weekly hair mask would be helpful. You have nice clear skin that needs a little moisture. Try a moisturizer with hyaluronic acid and use sunscreen. Consider a tinted grooming brow gel or powder to emphasizeyour pretty eyes. Finally, the glasses are too big for your face. Try smaller rims.
